Scam in the proper way

Make sure to read the whole FAQ ENTIRELY before buying a subscription. Anything you do will lack the most NECESSARY informations.They take 0 responsiblity about their own company, and support is almost inexistant which makes them immature.DO NOT subscribe on the last day of the month, they will charge you AGAIN on the 1st day of the next month.If you want to unsubscribe, make sure you unsubscribe at least 2 weeks before the date. They will charge you 5 days before the renewal day. I don't recommend this to anyone, it's an absolute scam.

Patreon is a COMPLETE SCAM

Patreon is a COMPLETE SCAM. They take absolutely no responsibility for the actions of creators who advertise goods and services on their site. They say you can report creators who don't honor commitments, but when you follow their instructions it leads to a dialog that says you need to contact the creator directly. As if that helps when the creator has already ignored your repeated messages!Unlike any other proper online marketplace there is no reputation system and no way to leave reviews. You can't even comment on creator posts if you're not currently subscribed to them. So there's no way for anyone to know if a creator is a thief, and Patreon takes zero responsibility for the fraud happening in their marketplace. Shame on them!--Update after Patreon reply: As I said, your "report" flow leads only to a dialog that says to contact the creator directly. Which of course I already tried to do multiple times before trying to report him for non-compliance.Beyond that, you take no responsibility for what happens in your marketplace. Imagine eBay, Amazon or Etsy without reviews and a reputation system. How can you offer a marketplace without the ability for consumers to know who they're sending money to? I had stupidly assumed that you had protection against fraud--I didn't realize that your business model was to benefit from it yourself.

I am in an endless loop of Patreon…

I am in an endless loop of Patreon demanding I verify my device, sending a mail with a link that times out as soon as it arrives. I’m paying for content I can’t read! No customer service just random bot responses often unrelated to the specific question asked. I note that people are getting far more sensible responses on here than I have ever received from Patreon!

No customer service?

Patreon does not have a customer service team that you can call and express your complaints to. I have never heard of a company that does not have at least one person answering the phones when they have frustrated customers. Unacceptable.

Non-existent Customer Support, terrible company policies

On 12 July I signed up to Patreon to support a creator called Camelsonminiaturesart. However, I quickly discovered the account was inactive and he hadn't produced new content in over a year - obviously I'm not going to pay on a continued basis to support a creator that isn't creating, so I'd intended to cancel at the end of my 1st months access. However, 20 days later I was charged again (before I was able to cancel the contract), due to creator policy options that are not explained anywhere upfront on the site, nor made clear when you support a Patreon - I only found this out by reading some of the responses to the many, many complaints Patreon has received on Trustpilot.As suggested in the website guides, I tried emailing camelsonminiaturesart to explain what had happened and ask for a refund. However, the account is inactive so no response was recieved. I then followed up with the Customer Support team who were anything but - dismissive and vague, while making no attempt to explain why they felt I was not due a refund. I appreciate we're in this post-Covid world now, but the delay times and nothingy responses are unacceptableCharging someone for a month of membership and then only providing them with 20 days is misleading, fraudulent and theft, while signing someone up to a contract with different terms to that which they were led to believe were in place is illegal. Very disappointed with the whole experience

Bad experience

I've just read some other reviews and agree with many "Patrons". I signed up to follow Goro Fujito, a digital artist. When I tried to access the tutorials, I wasn't allowed to download the brushes. It said these were included with the $5/month membership.But, since I couldn't access everything, I increased the donation to $9 thinking maybe only certain things were available at different levels. Once again, I could not download the brushes. I tried contacting Patreon and the artist and got no response. I cancelled future monthly payments and was immediately cut off and couldn't login anymore. I paid for the month on Sept.5 and cancelled on Sept. 7. I believe I should have had access to this artist for the full month of September. Once again, I tried contacting the company and they DID respond but sent an email on how to cancel the subscription. Nothing about the issue I actually asked about. It's a shame that this company can't give you what you're paying for. Most subscriptions are for the month you pay for, no matter when you cancel. It's also odd that if you pay for the membership on the last day of the month, you will be charged again the next day for the next month. I was really looking forward to following the artist but was very unhappy with the whole experience of trying to work with this company!!!

I have 'Sent a Note' - No Response!

I have contacted Patreon on the 'Send us a note' form, as is repeatedly advised in this review portal, however I have not had a response in almost a week. My hubby did legitimately want to follow 'Free Range Sailing', and signed up, but recently hasn't been able to access their content through our account? We want to discontinue the support, however the Patreon account says we're not supporting anyone, so we can't cancel the charge that keeps coming out each month. I'm sure there's some answer, but Patreon, you MUST have a quicker response time to these worrying issues. Will go to my bank if no action from Patreon in 24 hrs, and report this.

This is the digital age, does Patron think were in the stone age?

I subscribed to a benefit for a game server (The Hideout Dayz) and was charged on the 25th of august and then AGAIN on 1st of September. I was very confused how I could go ONLY 6 days to then be charged AGAIN for the same service. By the way this was clearly advertised as being a service that costs 15 dollars PER month on patrons website. After some research, I learned about how patron actually works. I guess patron gets away with false advertisement? **By the way, If there are any lawyers out there looking to start a class action lawsuit, I am giving you my FULL permission to contact me.**At this point, I went to the game server directly and they basically told me to go "F" myself and that I was basically an idiot for not knowing how a Patreon works and would not give me the refund for the second charge and ended up BANNING me from all their game servers and game servers connected to them. (This could easily be fixed if patron just tells their sellers that they must offer services for 30 days after a purchase despite refunds for payments on the first, if services are advertised as monthly.)So now I'm out my product AND my money (2 PAYMENTS!!!!!!!!!) and so far no response from Patron. WORST payment service I've ever dealt with. WORST customer support I've ever witnessed in the history of online services. This is the digital age, things like this should never be this barbaric.

Ive been subscribed for months to someone without knowing with a card i dont use, and i finally get my payment to my card and everything get charged in a split second, neither the guy who got supported or patreon is responding, never knew that patroen would be the reason for me to starve this month...
