Con artists!!! I obtained a PayPal debit card and set it up to pay from your PayPal wallet and if there is insufficient funds then from my bank account. The reason I set it up was they said no fees or charges, however first purchase was added to my PayPal credit and was charged £1.13 fee!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I've cancelled my account after PayPal decided to rule in favour of MyIQ having been conned into a subscription charging me €24.99 after clicking free trial (well documented on the Internet).
I've no desire to align myself with a financial institution that has the same questionnable ethics as the supplier they are clearly supporting.

Unfair Expectations for Returning Faulty Items

It is deemed unjust to expect customers in the UK to cover the costs of returning defective products to a foreign location, as per UK law. The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 prohibits such unfair business practices, which can mislead consumers and hinder their ability to make informed choices. This includes charging for the return of goods that are faulty or inaccurately described. The law aims to safeguard consumers and mandates businesses to provide clear and precise information. The retailer in question has proven unreliable, as the promised delivery date before Christmas was not honored, making it reasonable to request a pre-paid return label. The distress and inconvenience brought on by the faulty items, along with the lack of guidance regarding their suitability for younger children, could be alleviated through a full refund. Although a UK return address was included on the package with the items, the retailer claims it cannot be utilized. It is important to note that previous correspondence with the payment platform did not allow the rejection of this situation. I needed to provide an unshipped reference number to leave a message, which may require escalation to the appropriate regulatory body. This case history illustrates the circumstances where contracts stipulating that items must be returned at the purchaser's expense to a foreign country are considered unfair. For reference, the case identification is provided.

Verbal promises are worthless.

Verbal promises are meaningless. After years of using the service, I am deeply disappointed with the so-called "Buyer Protection." I fell victim to a clear "Bait-and-Switch" by an international seller. I provided undeniable photographic evidence showing that the items I received were flat, printed rags instead of the 3D knitted garments that were advertised. On December 11th, I spoke to a representative for 17 minutes and was VERBALLY ASSURED of several things: The case was escalated because the service is "fully aware" of this seller’s poor practices; they would contact the seller to demand a pre-paid return label; and if the seller refused, they would assist with postage costs or ensure I wasn't out of pocket. Despite these recorded promises, the service went back on everything. They closed the case in favor of the seller because I refused to pay a hefty return fee to send misrepresented items back overseas. Their "protection" is a myth. They allow fraudulent sellers to use high return costs as a way to avoid issuing refunds for misrepresented goods. Their staff provide false hope and incorrect information just to get you off the line. I was even told they were aware of this seller and that if complaints continued, the company would be removed from their listings. I have now closed my account after years of loyalty. If you value your money, do not depend on this service to protect you from international scammers. I am escalating my case to the relevant financial oversight authority.

Would rate zero if I could

I would give zero stars if possible. I unfortunately purchased from a problematic seller. They are a scam company and did not deliver as promised. I received only 2 out of 4 items, which were so poorly made they were unwearable. The service did nothing, insisting I still cover the payment or they would affect my credit reference. Based on my experience, the service shows no concern for customers and seems content to ensure they get their money while payments go through to known fraudsters. AVOID.

STAY AWAY

The service used to be helpful, and I relied on it for convenience and its buyer protection policy, but my recent experience has shown it to be completely ineffective. Terrible customer service, unusable automated phone systems, and their ‘buyer protection’ essentially no longer exists - AVOID.

Unhelpful customer service

The customer service was very unhelpful. I bought a pair of shoes, returned them, but they never made it back to the seller, so I couldn't get a refund. I contacted the service, as it was my original payment method, and they were unhelpful, claiming to have investigated quickly and refusing to provide any details. Very disappointing.

Terrible Protection & Dismissive Response — Trust Lost

I’ve been using the service for years, but my recent experience has completely shattered my trust in it. An unauthorized transaction appeared on my account for a digital item from a merchant I have never used. I reported it immediately, removed all payment methods, and clearly stated that it wasn’t my purchase. Despite this, my messages were ignored, and the service refused to acknowledge the payment as unauthorized. They even sent incorrect automated emails claiming they charged a “backup credit card” that I don’t have. I had removed every funding source from my account, yet the service still processed the transaction, taking money from my bank card. Customer support provided contradictory information, closed my case without explanation, and refused to offer meaningful help. The merchant also refused to assist, and the service sided with them without any proof that I had received anything. Ultimately, I had to dispute the charges with my bank because the service failed to protect me and investigate properly. Their Buyer Protection is unreliable, their system messages are inaccurate, and their support feels automated and dismissive. I expected security and trust but received stress, lost funds, and total disregard for my concerns. Extremely disappointing experience. I will avoid using this service whenever possible from now on.

PayPal prioritizes scammers over customers.

Despite these recorded promises, the service reneged on everything. They closed the case in favor of the seller because I refused to pay a hefty return fee to send misrepresented items back overseas. Their "protection" is a myth. They allow fraudulent sellers to use punitive return costs to evade issuing refunds for misrepresented goods. Issues with gift card purchase

I attempted to purchase a gift card using my funds, but the service wouldn’t allow it. I was told it didn’t go through due to security reasons. Security reasons? It’s odd they allow money transactions but not for a simple gift card. They wouldn’t explain why...? There seems to be no good reason since it’s my account. Who makes these poor decisions? We need a better service than this.
