Absolutely shocking service. Sainsbury’s Pet Insurance has been nothing but frustrating to deal with — poor communication, lack of accountability, and completely unacceptable customer service.

When people are dealing with the stress of looking after their pets, the last thing they need is to be messed around and treated like an inconvenience. This experience has been a complete letdown and far below what anyone would expect from a company of this size.

Avoid if you value your time, money, and peace of mind.

Would not even give them a 1 star if I had a choice.

Easy process to claim

Easy process to claim, didn't take them long at all to review and accept the 2 claims I put in from our regular vet and the emergency vet. Claim was paid promptly with only £35 disallowed what the emergency vets had charged in admin fees. Very pleased overall

Surprising, in a good way.

I was really not expecting to be paid out as the terms and conditions of my policy is that to pay out for a claim on dental my cat was required to have annual check ups, and as she hadn't had a vet visit since 2023, I was not optimistic. However after explaining that my cat was semi feral when I rescued her in 2020 and that in the almost 6 years that I have had her she still does not allow me to lift her. On the one occasion that I did successfully trap her it caused so much trauma (to all of us!) that I have avoided vet visits unless absolutely vital because being an indoor cat she is in no mortal danger. To my utmost surprise Sainsburys Pet Portal agreed to pay out, and I was extremely grateful for their excellent service.

First time I have needed them

First time I have needed to make a claim for my beautiful Tigger, he's had 14 teeth out and making a claim for his vets fees was really easy. It was paid quickly + without any fuss so I'm really happy with the whole process. Would definitely recommend Sainsbury's Pet Insurance to anyone looking for good cover at a reasonable price 👍

Excellent service from Sainsbury's with…

Excellent service from Sainsbury's with my recent claim.Easy to use interface, superb communication and claim settled in less than 24 hours.Had 2 previous insurers, never had to claim but moved due to increased quotes.This is my 2nd year with Sainsbury, renewals were reasonable.I'm super impressed all round.

Would not recommend.

I am in dispute with Sainsbury's who are trying to exclude any miscellaneous lumps related to my dog's AGs. She hasn't got a problem with them, but just because 3 years ago she has a small cyst that burst in that areas (and no problems since), they are claiming I withheld information when I took out the policy (I didn't as she doesn't have a problem) and now they are trying to exclude it. I intend fighting them through the ombudsman as it is unfair.

Lost my cat last month still unable to…

Lost my cat last month still unable to access portal despite complaining daily, now I've waited more than the stated 5 days to still not have an answer about my claim and told today be a further 5 days! Well thanku sainsburys for ruining my Christmas!

The best UK company I have ever dealt with..Incredible service.. incredible speed of settling the claims I have submitted.I was employed by an insurance broker prior to retirement and know how insurers can take the flack.. but the service I have received is second to none.
