I recently redid my CBT and then onto A2 with Phoenix in Bristol and Bath. These guys are awesome and I would highly recommend them. They were extremely accommodating about my short time frame, even booking extra test days in order to make sure I could fit it all in. The instructors are all awesome, really professional in their teaching but also just funny guys who make the whole thing a great experience. The bikes are all well maintained and I had no issues at all. Thanks to everyone :)
Done my DAS course with phoenix. the instructors are very knowledgeable and effective communicators. From my initial big bike assessment with Steve ⭐️ in Crystal Palace to mod 1 training with Karen ⭐ at Sidcup. The customer service is exceptional they are able to offer multiple dates and locations to suit your needs.
They offer a mix of classroom and on road training for the mod 2 and are observant even in 1:2 instructor to student setups. They went through common test routes and gotcha spots 🤣.
Would highly recommend this school to anyone looking to start riding.
After reading many positive reviews, I booked my CBT. I arrived feeling excited but nervous, and Andy's warm greeting immediately put me at ease. Meeting Jorge was a highlight; he was a fantastic instructor! They made a great team, explaining everything in a fun and professional manner. The equipment met my expectations, and while the setup was basic, refreshments were available. The day was intense but supportive, with praise for good performance and gentle corrections when needed. During the road training, they monitored my performance while navigating busy streets. I started off struggling but ended up riding confidently. There was a minor downside with some attendees struggling with English, but overall, it was an amazing day and offered great value.
I booked my CBT after seeing many positive reviews. Like others, I came in excited yet anxious, but Andy's warm welcome calmed me down. Then I met Jorge, who was a fantastic instructor! They worked well together, explaining everything in a fun and professional way. The equipment was as expected, though basic, with refreshments available. It was an intense day filled with information, but I felt supported throughout. Even during the road training, they monitored my performance while guiding me through busy streets. I started off struggling in the car park, but by day’s end, I was riding with confidence. There was a minor issue with some attendees struggling with English, which impacted the day slightly, but overall, it was an amazing experience and great value.
I initially completed three try-ride sessions with the company. By the end, I felt confident in all the maneuvers needed for a CBT, and the try-ride instructor confirmed my readiness. However, my CBT training session was highly disappointing and concerning. The bike assigned to me had an engine warning light on throughout the session. I raised this issue three times, but it was dismissed as 'normal for this type of training.' Additionally, the instructor allowed other students to ride too closely and attempt unsafe overtakes, forcing me to intervene. There were two instructors for six students, both giving conflicting instructions, making the experience stressful and unsafe. Despite repeatedly asking for breaks due to my anxiety disorder, my requests were denied. The classroom was merely an old storage container, and when I sat down, the chair collapsed, causing back pain. There was constant pressure to rush, creating an uncomfortable learning environment. I was sent home without a clear explanation and asked to pay an additional £160 to continue training, which was frustrating since we were told that unprepared students would continue practicing in the car park. Instead, I was sent home and asked to pay again. I was assured that all necessary equipment would be provided, but upon arrival, I was given borrowed gear that was either too small or damaged. When I raised a complaint, I was promised a callback, but the feedback was vague, and I was then advised to pay for another taster session and CBT. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and poorly managed. I wouldn't recommend this training provider, as I even started to doubt my desire to ride a motorbike after this experience.
