Review Time
At first we had frustrating situation because of small mistake on shipping label (postal code missing). Package was sent back without delivery attempt, which was unnecessary…
But Overall my experience with Post.at has been pretty good after. Most deliveries arrive on time without issues.
If delivery isn’t possible they deliver to neighbour or try again another day or bring to nearby pickup location.
After initial issue, service has been reliable.
Sending a gift from Australia to Austria became a textbook case in frustration. Not only was I charged an exorbitant fee—more than the value of the gift itself—but the recipient was subjected to abusive and aggressive behavior when they tried to resolve the issue in person at a Vienna post office. This isn't an isolated incident; a glance at the reviews reveals a staggering 99% dissatisfaction rate, detailing systemic failures both in-person and via post. The entire experience was an embarrassing waste of time and money. I cannot stress this enough: find an alternative to the Austrian postal service.
Terrible tracking, and insanely slow movement. When posted by sender, it takes them 3 days to even have it leave the sorting sender, let alone leave the country. For reference, when I, a person who lives in the north of the Netherlands, want to send a parcel to belgium. It'll leave the country the same/next day, and be in belgium no more than 3 days later. In Austria, the parcel won't even be on the car by then! And it's more expensive postage then in the netherlands too! Scammers that don't like doing their jobs!
Everything is shitty: from tracking updates to actual deliveries. Why do you even need courier services if they (Lieferanten) are too unbothered to actually ring a bell or knock on the door? What’s the point of them? It’s a nightmare and a shame, having this type of service on a governmental level, lol.

1 star — and only because giving minus 10 isn’t an option. This service has officially reached a level I didn’t think possible: worse than anyone else. And considering they are a state‑run service kept alive by our taxes, the level of indifference is almost impressive. Someone should obviously remind them that their salaries exist because we pay for them. The delivery drivers have apparently decided that doing their job is optional. They don’t ring, they don’t show up, they don’t leave anything at the post office — they simply click “missing address information” and call it a day. Which, of course, means they never even bothered to pick up the parcel from the warehouse. Pure inefficiency at its finest.Customer service? A masterpiece of chaos. Every reply comes from a different person, each one more clueless than the last. One of them insisted three times that my tracking number “does not exist”. After I sent a screenshot proving it does, they simply disappeared. No reply, no explanation — just silence. Obviously. Then the highlight: they told me the address on my XXX Lutz parcel doesn’t match the address on my postal account. As if the post office were Amazon. I don’t order from the post office — I order from companies. Their one and only task is to deliver to the address printed on the package. Apparently even that is too ambitious. At this point I genuinely can’t tell whether the issue is a complete inability to understand basic procedures or a level of laziness that should be studied scientifically. But hey, better not disturb them — wouldn’t want to interrupt their coffee break, especially since we are the ones paying for it.I sincerely look forward to the day this whole system becomes privatized. Maybe then the era of “dolce far niente” will finally come to an end.
At least three items sent from the UK have been lost by Post.at. Two of them were rare vinyl records and the other a New Year gift from a friend. No sight of any of them. Zero customer support, zero interest, zero f**** given. Useless.
Sender shipped two packages almost at the same time. Due to a minor mistake on the shipping label - missing postal code, Post.at immediately returned first package to Spain without attempting delivery, without calling, without trying to clarify the address, even though the destination was clearly identifiable. The second package is still in transit. As soon as we realized what had happened with the first parcel, we proactively contacted them, explained the situation in detail, and provided our correct and complete delivery address, asking for a simple address completion so that the second package could finally reach us.Despite this, they told us that they refuse to add the postal code, fully aware that this second parcel will arrive to Austria and will be sent back again, exactly like the first one. For NO REASON at all. This is beyond frustrating. They are knowingly allowing the same error to repeat itself. We have been waiting for this delivery for a long time, and watching two international shipments fail back to back due to pure inflexibility is unacceptable. This was not a complicated request - it was basic postal service that would've been resolved by another other postal company easily.Absolutely shocking and disgusting service. This is the first time I have ever encountered such a careless and customer-hostile postal company.
