Review Time
I logged into our Powtoon account this morning and found that Powtoon have done an update, which means that a lot of the features I was using are now in a higher priced plan. I think this is really bad form of them to do this. It traps people into paying more for something that you originally signed up for on the lower priced plan. I’d understand if they brought out new features and put them into the higher plan, but these are features that have been in the Pro plan for a long time, and then they have moved them. Forcing people to upgrade to a plan that is 200% more in price. The features I was using were not even that complex, they were animated shapes which you could change the colours of - so that you could keep them on brand with your company. I've been a customer with my current company now for 4 years and before that a further 4 years at a past company. I think it is a bad way to do business and would like to warn others before signing up to this online software. I have complained to customer support and they just said "Our teams at Powtoon are hard at work, and we still have more changes coming soon!! Now just might be the right time to upgrade your plan to the next level, and start getting more out of your license." Which is not helpful, morally right. I've been looking at alternative companies instead, so will have to take my business elsewhere.
I contacted the POWTOON team after they upgraded their site in the middle of my work, and so many things I did became PRO and now cost money.I contacted in order to ask for an explanation of the matter and asked them to help me because my work was destroyed.They got back to me quickly, after each email, I immediately received a reply email.The problem is that at first they didn't understand me and didn't accept my words, but after repeated emails of explanations, they agreed to give me a one-time option to download my work as it is without cost.So I gave 4 stars because it helped me. At the same time, I took off one star because I had to explain again and they asked me to shorten the video. That is, they helped, but not yet fully, because this whole situation was not fair for me from the start, that they made changes without prior warning.Note that the team changed several times but it was okay, because they saw the email chain and immediately understood the situation
I bought a licenses under an incorrect username, the costumer services answered me fast, and found a solution to activate the license with the correct username a gave them Powtoons never stop contact me until they solve my problem. Thanks
