Review Time
Sadly I have to write a warning review to please warn other animal lovers to not use Rase Vets, I have had a traumatic and difficult time when my cat was ill and do not want anyone else to go through the same thing.
My cat is only 2 years old and is a rescue cat, she became very ill quickly over a weekend and I took her into Rase Vets on the Monday, they ran tests and said she was in kidney failure and very anaemic. They called me at 2am to say I needed to bring my other cat in to give her a blood transfusion- when I got there I couldn’t understand the Spanish vet at all, she spoke very little English but did tell me due to an error in stock taking they didn’t actually have a transfusion blood matching kit.
My son ended up calling all the vets in the area and found one in Louth , drove over at about 3am, bought a kit from James Street Vets and brought it back to do the transfusion . They did nothing to sort it out and we had to organise it ourselves.
Then they had an ‘expert’ read her scan which he said looked okay and didn’t explain her symptoms, my new vets have scanned her and said she has only one kidney and it’s very deformed, and she has a congenital kidney disease.
They left her dehydrated, didn’t measure her fluids even though she was very ill and in kidney failure; became very difficult with me when I tried to get answers about what was going on and tried to ban me from visiting her.
I have no doubt she would have died if I hadn’t kept checking up on her, and I had to Google everything they told me as each vet gave different advice and no-one seemed to know what was going on apart from a couple of very good vets we had on some of the shifts.
The language issue is a real problem, there doesn’t seem to be a good handover between shifts and a few vets told me it is understaffed, unorganised and that in the hospital it can be‘chaos’ and on one night the vet nurse said it was’carnage’ in the hospital area. Not very reassuring to leave your very sick animal in that!
I moved her to Wolds Vets and they have been amazing- a completely different experience and she is very well looked after and doing well now.
Please do not trust your sick animals in this place.
What a load of cowboys this vet is I left them two years ago getting my dog mixed up with my daughters dog after negotiations they agreed to pay for a well-third check from another vets cannot save a name that the ones what are on the telly fantastic still waiting to get this money my daughter as I did enough of this cowboy practice they are taking legal action for 50 pound on the pet plan that they are failed to deliver the service what they should be delivering if you want your animals to be treated buy vets from another country this is for you my daughter's dog has not had any health checks for over 3 years as soon as we got him to a British vet they sorted him out not up into restrain him or anything requested to speak to the director was refused the only conclusion I can come towards they are trying to hide it I'm happy for my day in court I have also reported them to the Royal Veterinary Association they are not fit to look after animals if you look on Trust pilot I am not the only one always unhappy about these cowboys
We had the nightmare experience of taking a very poorly 14 year old Terrier to the new Newark Road Branch, tonight. with a joint conclusion between us and the Vet, that crossing the rainbow bridge was the only option, both the Vet and the Receptionists were absolutely brilliant, compassionate, caring and extremely supportive. We were given a recommendation for cremation, which we will use. We can honestly say that for such a painful experience, this new Branch of Rase Vets has given us outstanding care, we both really appreciated everything done for our Pet and us as a couple. Full 100% recommendation. Thank you so much for your help at a very difficult time. Mike and Linda
Don’t take your pets here, terrible. Lack of care, no compassion, lack of communication. Changed back to this vet and wish I had never changed. My boy went from having a tummy up on 27th November and ended up in hospital at Market Rasen, discharged following day and 7 days later he couldn’t walk and 11 days later went over the rainbow bridge 😢 absolutely disgusted with how we have been treated. Our hearts are broken, wish we had seen all the reviews about this place and we would never have gone there

Took my cat with a problem with a scab on his nose which he knocked off in cat basket in transit he was checked for heart teeth temperature and weight all OK cat was fine in himself eats sleeps enjoyed being outdoors got the impression vet wasn't sure said I might get him checked incase it was viral was given a quote anyway took my cat home with his nose raw after the scab had come off was offered no medication for him will be looking for another vet who cares not money orientated
Overcharged me. I picked up meds and asked if the total charge was right. They said yes so I asked for invoice. When I got home I realised they had provided me wirh a statement which just shows the total. I went back into the surgery and asked again (the same receptionist) to check the price. She looked on the computer and said, yes again, the price was right. So I asked for a copy of my previous invoice with the same meds. The wormer and flea combined treatment appeared to have increased by £50.58 to £61.26! I said that cannot be right, that would be an increase of 21%! At that point was then she said yes, they had overcharged! I was then told I couldn't have a refund back on my card, because it had to be dealt with through accounts. No apology, just the usual miserable face.ALWAYS ASK FOR AN ITEMISED INVOICE
I have had to give this review one star because I cannot give it a minus review I booked our cat in for castration on Monday 17 November, on arrival the receptionist could not find the booking and said our cat did not exist. On pressing the matter I was told we were a NO SHOW for Friday 14th I pointed out that if this were the case why didn’t we get a phone call informing us of this, the answer was we don’t contact you about these things ( they can contact you on time to inform you your cats flea & worming treatment is due each month at extortionate prices. The receptionist made me feel it was my fault and when I pressed to speak to someone I was told no one would be in, if I had a complaint to contact customer service I had to rebook for the next day Tuesday 18thThe receptionist needs to have some sort of customer service training and learn to look people in the eye and not avoid eye contactIn all my 72 years I have never been treated this off Handedly by anyoneBad customer service, inflated prices, first question on booking you cat in is,is he insured WHY, what difference does it make, next question how much is he insured for again WHY. I was then asks if for a fee for each would I like blood tests to check liver and kidney function and a Vet to carry out an examination WHY. My cat is only 6 months oldIf felt like all the practice was interested in was making money nothing to do with pet care at allWe will be moving vets after this dreadful experience
I’ve recently moved to Lincolnshire and Rase vets have given my two cats the very best of care. They are prompt in answering calls, kind and helpful during visits. They go above and beyond and I truest them completely when advising me and with the medication they administer. Gemma and Chloe and everyone at Rase Vets in Nettleham are wonderful. So thanks very much Rase Vets!
