Very misleading. I received ad in mail directed to me personally that they could reduce my APR two points on the car I purchased, but after completing their forms they told me they couldn't reduce my loan rate as advertised. I wasted two hours giving them my info. Very untrustworthy advertising. My credit rating is as good as it gets, they just can't deliver their info they purport in their ads. Don't waste your time.
I contacted RateGenius again to refinance my auto loan with a different bank. The agent processed all my documents, initiated a credit check, and then went silent for almost two weeks. After I called a support line, I found out there was no way I could refinance the same Car a second time with RateGenius which the agent failed to explain and check before even starting the process. As a result, I have another hard pull on my credit history and will have to do that again to refinance my loan with another company. This is terrible customer service!UPDATE: RateGenius replied to this review and asked me to call back and resolve the issue. But the funny thing is that every call on this phone number goes directly to voice mail and they never call back!UPDATE 2:Apparently, it was a rate RateGenius policy where they do not refinance the same vehicle multiple times. Be aware of this quirk. But on the positive side, I did talk to them again and they helped me out with a different company that provides the same services.
While the rategenius reps were great, the overall experience was not what it seemed. I chose to use rategenius for my recent auto refinance so I could do it online. However, in reality very little of it was actually completed online - not only were the rates and details all quoted over the phone, but the application itself had to be done all via mail. It was a pain to have to go back and forth to UPS to have to get this done. If I thought anything would need to be done in person, I would've just gone to my local credit union directly! Beware, they are not what they seem.
