Great support and fast communication. We hired people abroad and thanks to the competent and professional staff the process was pretty easy. The platform is straight forward as well and they provide transparent information all along.
Overall, it was and still is a great experience. Quick and easy onboarding and good responsiveness and service of the team throughout the whole process. Horizons enables us to build up our worldwide team lean and at a favorable price, especially compared to other providers.
Horizons offers great service - their communication is reliable, consistent and solution oriented. Everyone I got in contact with was super friendly. The platform is extremely user-friendly with great features that help along the way.
Our experience with Horizons was smooth. As we looked to grow our presence in Asia, the support from their team made the process a whole lot simpler than other providers I had shopped around with. Transparent pricing, no hidden fees and local insight on compliance that would have taken us ages to sort out ourselves!
Horizons has good presence all over the world and the fact that they focus a lot on providing local expertise to companies who are hiring in foreign countries, makes them stand out. Their local teams are well equipped with detailed knowledge about payroll, taxation and compliances. Smooth onboarding, efficient support teams and expert local teams. These make for a great combination.
Based on "raving reviews" about price, I'm very confused. We got a quote of $5000 per employee, plus the monthly fees, which were higher than the advertised prices on their site. And since we were looking for people that take six months to train, Horizon's 12 month "non-approach clause" wasn't very comforting. In case others don't know why that's important: Imagine Horizons sending offers to our people they placed with us to be placed at other clients. We would pay them $5,000, monthly fees, spend six months training them and six months later Horizons could poach them. And we'd have to start over. The sales funnel was painful. Two people from Horizons and two from a "recruiting partner" were on endless emails. Passing us to a recruiting partner felt like they just wanted to become a middle man. Perhaps that's why the price was over twice as expensive as the next competitor. I don't know about that, but what I do know is that the experience was not good and wasted our time. Now, before anyone starts asking for apples to apples comparisons, let me state that we got offers from two other reputable EORs for far less upfront, a little higher monthly. We took the higher monthly. And we have been happy with our staff and the company we ultimately went with.
We had been working with our Canadian team members on a subcontracting basis for a while. With the introduction of a PEO system - this allowed for us to provide benefits and remove the tax implication for them. What makes Horizons so special is the team that is dedicated to you - the responsiveness, the care to detail from both an account management and legal perspective (to help us Americans understand Canadian systems) has been super helpful throughout the entire process. Not to mention - their sales team were honest and are advocates for your business processes.
