I have logged into the Rover app several times, but never actually used it. I finally used it in a pinch and had a really great experience. The service was super easy to use and the person I reached out to communicated immediately and we got everything set up easily and it worked well. My dogs were happy and the Doggy Caregiver is somebody. I will definitely use again and again. People had told me to use this service for ages and I've been skeptical but my new puppy is not quite ready to be left alone so I finally went for it and I'm glad I did for that matter. I'm not sure my puppies ever gonna be capable of being left alone so I'm sure I will use this service often.
Took my money for a profile, but they wouldn't create it because I work with animals professionally. Tried to tell me i don't own my photos (I do) and they have no problem allowing literal drug addicts to create profiles, but someone like me who is actually certified in training and grooming and first aid and has owned successful and reputable pet care facilities for several decades along with insurance, is not permitted due to some fictitious conflict of interest. Clearly, the safety and well-being of the actual animals is not the priority.
Pooyan was absolutely amazing looking after my dog for three days while I was away. From the very beginning, he was kind, professional, and incredibly reassuring. It’s never easy leaving your dog behind, but he made the whole experience stress-free.
He kept me updated, showed genuine care and attention, and treated my dog like his own. When I came back, my dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after — which says everything.
I’m so grateful for the love and care he provided. I would highly recommend Pooyan to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, and truly compassionate to care for their pet. Thank you again!
I am writing to highly recommend Bruce Cannon as a dog walker and pet sitter. Having used his services for years I can confidently say he is one of the most capable and dedicated caregivers I have ever encountered.
What truly sets Bruce apart is his deep understanding of dog behavior. He isn't just someone who holds a leash; he understands the "why" behind a dog's actions. This knowledge, combined with his natural compassion, ensures that my dog is not only safe but also emotionally well-cared for.
Instead of sticking to standard street walks, he goes above and beyond to provide a stimulating experience. He clearly thrives in the outdoor environment, and that enthusiasm is contagious. He takes the time to find trails and natural spaces that make the outings a true highlight of my dog's day. It is clear that he enjoys these adventures just as much as the dogs do.
In short, Bruce is knowledgeable, adventurous and reliable.
I have total peace of mind knowing my dog is in his hands. I would recommend him without hesitation to any pet owner looking for more than just a standard walker.
I selected a local sitter in Southampton and said I would just need to check with my insurance company, but all looked good, she seemed friendly and was available. My insurance company suggested I check some things with her like did she have legal and liability insurance if for example my dog ran off and caused a car accident. She admitted she didn't have insurance but asked me to check Rover's cover. I then discovered by looking at another company dog sitters must have a license by the council - it's a legal requirement and means the Council can check the sitter and the property; see the Government's guidance on this online (I'm unable to post the link). As soon as I asked if she had this license she cancelled the booking. This has wasted so much time and surely Rover should ask to see this license before accepting a member. Rover shouldn't be advertising people who can't provide the legal license. We have a holiday booked and no sitter so I have to start again, this time using a company who do ensure their members don't mind being asked to provide the legal certificates. I'm very disappointed with Rover and will not recommend them.
Over Christmas, my boyfriend & i went to visit his family who we had not seen in a year. The sitters watching our dog called us the second night to tell us they had lost her. It was a painful 2 days of hearing nothing and not knowing where she was. There was a horrible storm passing through our city & all we could think of was her alone in the rain. We were so anxious & upset & had to leave on Christmas Eve night last minute to come home and find our dog. It was the most stressful plane ride of my life not knowing if she was okay. She was still a puppy! Rover was very communicative w us at first and were being helpful. HOWEVER, we spent the night & entire next morning searching for our dog. When we found her, she was dirty & scratched up & bleeding on her face but she was safe with us. Rover didn’t help with a thing once she was found. They offered a $1000 reward for her return but refused to pay for our flights that we took to get home even though we found her once we returned so it was obviously necessary. They took no financial responsibility and the burden fell on us. We didn’t have the money for last minute flights but what were we supposed to do? Finish the 5 days of our trip not knowing where our puppy was when clearly the sitters didn’t get close to finding her in 2 days?? It was absolutely obscene. Contacting rover support & talking to what was clearly someone using AI or just an AI chat bot I don’t even know at this point. We had to cut our trip with our family short, buy plane tickets on Christmas Eve, and spend Christmas day looking for our puppy. We do not regret coming home to find her in the least but this million dollar company couldn’t find the decency to give us money for our plane tickets even though they’ll offer to pay for your dogs cremation if they’re found dead. They also kept giving me the most difficult time about getting her vet bills reimbursed and it took forever to finally receive the check. Even our vet said they were asking for so much. I sent them what they asked for multiple times. Maybe the AI was confused. This app works fine unless you’re in an emergency and then they don’t care about you or your dog. If you can’t afford to cut your trip short & fly back over night just to reunite with your dog, I wouldn’t use this service because that’s the risk you run.
Rover has been super helpful in finding reputable goods sitters for our pets
I’ve been really happy with their services and the ease of use to communicate with our sitters.
I have been looking for a new place to board our terrier. Rover had lots of choices and with their filters I was able to quickly narrow choices to those homes I thought would be the best fit. We just did a trial two night stay and we will be back for a week long trip.
Numerous cleanliness and care issues arose during my stay. Upon returning home, I discovered that my dogs had diarrhea, likely due to improper feeding. They were not taken outside promptly, leading to messes in the guest bedroom of the finished basement, which were not cleaned. I also found solid feces in various parts of the home and multiple areas where the dogs had urinated, with no communication about these issues. Consequently, I had to arrange for professional cleaning of the rugs. Additionally, the camera in the outside basement area was turned off. The sitter initially did not respond to my request to turn it back on, only doing so after I asked a second time. The backyard was left uncleaned and was littered with dog waste, which was not disposed of in the garage trash can as instructed. Feeding instructions were ignored. Treats were meant to be given once a day per dog, but the entire 48-ounce bag was gone when I returned. One dog missed his daily probiotic, and the sensitive dog food intended for two dogs appeared unused, while most of the dry food for the third dog was consumed. Upon my return, the sitter was absent but arrived shortly after. One dog had been left on the bed alone, unable to get down by himself, and remained there until the sitter returned. The kitchen was also left in a messy state.
