I recently went into the Ryman store in Union Street Glasgow . Both assistants, Ryan & Tracy were extremely helpful .
My experience with both Ryan & Tracy reminded me just what a valuable asset sales assistants are - something which cannot be replicated online . Thank you both ! I will definitely be back ( in person !) to this store .
My visit to the store was quite positive overall. I managed to find most of the items I was searching for, and the staff were incredibly helpful. They even took the extra step to check online for specific stationery products I required, which I truly appreciated. The quality of customer service was outstanding and contributed to a pleasant visit. One area where the store could enhance its offering is by broadening its product selection. For instance, items like legal punched polypropylene pockets can be hard to come by and aren't readily available. Providing a more extensive and specialized stationery range under one roof would make the store even more noticeable and attractive, as customers would feel confident that they can find exactly what they need.
I found the ordering process incredibly easy for items I had trouble locating elsewhere. I was delighted to find the diary I sought online and that it was available at my local store. I received a notification the very next day that my order was ready for pickup, just a night after placing it. The staff were friendly and accommodating upon my arrival. The entire process was seamless.
I’m unsure why the staff consistently exhibit rudeness. I've visited three different locations and encountered the same dismissive attitude each time. Additionally, they seem quite petty. I needed a few documents printed quickly and was charged a service fee of £2.50 plus extra for the prints. After leaving, I realized I needed a couple more items, so I returned and politely asked to waive the service fee, but they refused and charged me again for two pages. The total came to around £6 for five black-and-white prints. They also charged me an extra £0.30 for a sleeve, even though the last customer received it for free based on their looks. It was a very surreal experience overall. I attempted to contact them online regarding a potential refund for the second service fee, but was informed that’s just their policy. Not a pleasant experience, and I will source my stationery elsewhere now. This was at the local location near various consulates and embassies, so they profit from those needing to photocopy important documents.
I purchased a barbecue, but upon unpacking it, I found that one of the cast iron grill plates was broken in multiple places. I contacted them within two days of delivery and emailed photos of the damaged part. They asked if I wanted to return the barbecue or just the damaged piece. I opted to keep the barbecue and only requested a replacement grill plate. After three phone calls and five emails, they insisted on picking up the entire barbecue each time I clarified my request. They claimed to need confirmation from their supplier about their policy. I highlighted that my contract was with them, and I expected a replacement for the grill plate, offering to return the damaged one. Today, I received another email asking me to contact the courier for collection, assuming it was for the barbecue and not just the damaged part. I've never encountered such frustrating bureaucracy. They sell the grill plates two for £29, but I only wanted one for £14.50. I would advise against purchasing from them.
