Review Time
Generally what was recorded from ScreenApp.io was translated into moderate gibberish but distinguishable by more powerful AI, like ChatGPT, into something usable and worthwhile. I was enjoying my education subscription, until I was randomly charged $430+ USD for five (5!) random business accounts that I did not authorize. There was not any warning or preliminary emails stating that my subscription will be renewed/charged, at the 6 month mark, or that I signed up for an additional five plans. This is unacceptable and will be disputed until I have my refund. I will also be contacting my bank to have the charge reversed. When I receive my refund I will update my review. Until then, I would URGE people to stay away from ScreenApp.io they are approaching scammer territory. 2/16/25EDIT: ScreenApp.io has refunded me the charges after explaining to them that I am a student but it did take multiple emails to multiple people. I won’t be renewing my subscription. I think iOS notes can do a similar task. Be aware that if you add people to your account, YOU are responsible for paying their fees. There needs to be more transparency around this.
Do not bother. Content generated was gibberish. There is no indication before you upload your video/document that you have to pay a fee (which seems unreasonably high) to get the summary. They want $15 a month, but don't specify what currency you'll be paying in. Other similar programs are available for under $10 a month. They are way more transparent in terms of their billing AND offer a free trial period to ensure the software does what you need it to. The way ScreenApp operates seems quite predatory, and I would not recommend it.
Baits you into signing up by promising to do things it actually can't once you sign up.Then, if you want to delete your account, it displays the option likely to make you feel like you do have control but it doesn't work. You always get an error saying to try again later.Wouldn't be surprised if their sole goal is to just get users to sign up so they can eventually defraud investors by showing off how many fake users they have.
They are targeting the keyword "Record Screen Online Free" on Google, but it's not free. It's just another paid app. You'll actually waste a lot of time recording your first video, after which they come out of the hiding and will ask you to subscribe to download the video. I wasted my valuable time unfortunately, steer clear if you're looking for a free app!
