Stay until the end because it gets worse. A technician came to my home, and quoted $832 for a clean, my ac was leaking and he told me there was a blocked drain. He wouldn't do it that day because they refused to take invoices, which was lucky because I found a guy running his own business who did the same clean for $175.
My partner then called them to cancel the clean. It was an off shore call centre. They told him we need to pay a call out fee of $150 (for nothing happening, a guy just looking inside the unit). My partner said no, we won't be doing that, it advertises $0 on your website for call out fee. We haven't signed anything, and $150 is nearly what it cost to get it fixed.
Fast forward to today, I get a call from their head office, not a call centre this time, the lady on the phone is insisting I must pay the call out fee. She was very rude and unprofessional and cutting me off on the phone. I tried to get about 3 sentences out to tell her that a guy came and eyeballed it, that no work was done, that nothing was signed, and that their "call out fee" was what I paid to actually have it fixed. She started rudely saying I was interrupting her, when in reality she just wouldn't let me tell her the full story. I had already warned her at this point if she kept interrupting me I was just going to hang up. So I hang up. But now I have severe anxiety because I'm actually an Autistic person with trauma.
The man who came out here seemed super judgmental and also gave me anxiety. Should have known because when my dog sniffed him (miniature dachshund) she went absolutely ballistic and has never done that. In comparison with the man who actually fixed my aircon, he didn't make small talk, was wonderful, tapped my phone at the end of the service and that was it.
Find a small business, do not hire service today, $832 for a clean is a joke.
I am uncertain whether this company's policy involves excessive quoting and charging or if the employees are violating several provisions of consumer protection laws. They advertise a 15% discount for members, yet their prices are often significantly higher than those of other service providers. While they provide an immediate quote, they refuse to offer a detailed breakdown. They insist that work cannot proceed without your approval of the quote. Regardless of the actual time spent or materials used, they demand payment of the inflated cost (e.g., charged for 4 hours of work but completed in under an hour, totaling $2800 for a minor pipe repair). After detailing my experience to request a refund, I was offered a mere $400 discount. It is advisable to steer clear of this company, as they appear to engage in deceptive practices.
Charged an outrageous amount for isolating a single faulty front light – 45 minutes of work, no parts involved. Standard local prices range from $180 to $350. Offered a $200 refund only if I removed this review and signed a non-disclosure agreement. I declined. A chargeback and formal complaints are now in progress. Steer clear of this service.
It's unclear if this service has a policy of overquoting or if employees are violating consumer laws. They advertise a member discount of 15%, yet their prices are often ten times higher than competitors. While they provide on-the-spot quotes, they refuse to give itemized breakdowns. They pressure you to sign off on quotes to proceed, regardless of the actual time taken or materials used. After requesting a refund with detailed feedback, I was offered a meager $400 discount. Avoid this service at all costs; they are skilled at scamming.
Exceptional service for complex repairs. I had a plumbing issue under the floor slab—something that many would find challenging. The team was quick to find access, diagnosed the issue, and performed a clean repair. They explained everything step by step. I'm very pleased with my choice.
Reliable and trustworthy plumber. The technician who came to address a blocked pipe in my bathroom was courteous, efficient, and provided clear explanations before starting the work. The job was completed quickly, and he even tidied up before leaving. It's rare to find such dependable tradespeople, but he certainly fits the bill.
Mixed experience with significant concerns. I sought a plumber for a leaking pipe and was quickly connected. The plumber was prompt and identified the issue swiftly. However, I received an on-the-spot quote for a quick repair, which escalated significantly when a new hot water service was suggested. The claims made about the new system's efficiency were misleading. Initially quoted over $4600, the price dropped to over $4000 with additional costs for pipe replacement. I later found a local plumber who completed the job for under $2000. Caution is advised when dealing with this service.
Delayed response and unexpected fees. The plumber called two hours after the scheduled time and mentioned an additional 'roof fee' of approximately $200 on top of the call-out fee. I decided to cancel the booking. Exercise caution when scheduling with this service.
Excessive pricing for basic repairs. Quoted over $5,000 for replacing a hot water system and fixing two toilet inlet valves. After questioning, one inlet valve replacement was removed from the quote. I later found another plumber who completed the entire job for around $3,000.
