I recently purchased several items from the Leeds city centre store of Simply Pleasure. Two of the products (both priced at £20) broke on their very first use, splitting completely.
I returned to the store within the same week with the receipt, but was refused any refund or replacement. The staff member contacted the manager at the time, who also declined the request.
I then escalated the matter through customer service and provided clear photos of the damage. Despite this, the Retail Area Manager rejected my claim, stating that the items must have been misused — without providing any evidence to support that conclusion.
What is particularly concerning is that the receipt itself states that store policy does not affect statutory rights, yet when those rights are raised under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, they are effectively dismissed.
I remained polite throughout and even offered to accept a partial refund, which was also refused.
Based on this experience, I have no confidence in the durability of the products or the way legitimate customer complaints are handled, and I would strongly advise others to consider this before purchasing.

I have just had an extremely positive online shopping experience.

I have just had an extremely positive experience using the online chat function on SP website.The assistant Jasmine put me at ease immediately and offered some really great advice for my choice of toys, size of lingerie and delivery options when shopping.I am a secret married CD and have been really anxious about going into my local store. Jasmine assured me that all of their staff are none judgemental and are well versed in dealing with CD on a daily basis.Thank you so much Simply Pleasures, Jasmine was a delight to speak with and could not have been more helpful.

I can't speak about the in person store since I ordered online but my whole experience as a first time customer was amazing.They have great variety of products (some that I couldn't find anywhere else), good prices and very quick delivery.The 2 toys I got are just as described, high quality and work perfectly.Their "MeYouUs" lube is one of the cheapest for the quantity and I found it really good, non sticky and non smelly.They dispatched the order quickly and stayed in contact, the package arrived in a standard discreet cardboard box.10/10 for me, I can't wait to buy again!

Digusting treatment by a staff member!

Bristol branch. Had a family member go in to be told his 'custom was not welcomed' and that he was banned. The male server refused to give a reason as to why and said 'you know what you did,' providing no proof for the ban or give any detail.My family member was belitted and humilated in front of other customers and left worrying what he could have done to illicit such treatment. Needless to say they won't be giving the BRISTOL Branch any more custom.AVOID.

Friendly and safe at Leicester shop

Went into the Leicester shop yesterday and I could not have been made to feel more comfortable. The staff member (didn't catch their name sorry) was extremely knowledgeable and took loads of time to explain things to me. I feel safe and welcome in that shop every time I visit.

Highest possible praise

The staff at the Bristol store were nothing short of spectacular. They listened, offered advice and suggestions based on their expert knowledge of their product range, and we're really friendly at put me very much at ease throughout my entire shopping experience. I genuinely cannot thank and praise them enough for the trouble they went to, from running around the shop gathering products for me to look at, to asking appropriate questions to better understand my purchasing needs and (just as important) comfort zones. The available product range is extensive to say the least, and incredibly reasonably priced. The only sadness I have is that I'm not local to the store for future visits

Traveled from driffield to Hull to visit the simply pleasure store for a suprise present as we're currently going to enjoy a week to outselves arrived just after 5.35 shop hours says open until 6.00 ...shop shut poor show
