From the past years, I always rent the cars through SIXT. The experiences are all quite good and satisfied. The car itself is new and clean and the staff always explains the details carefully. I will keep choosing SIXT whenever I visit Europe or US
I usually get great service at this location at 20 Morris street. I am a diamond member and rent about 6 months out of the year. When I got my car (a lovely upgrade) I saw that the gas was a bit under 3/4 of a tank. I would say 5/8 full. Not a problem as I was only going to Boston. However, I failed to check the agreement before I left. They had marked it as full. I returned the car at about 4/8 or a bit over. I was then charged 100 bucks to refuel the car. I called and wrote but they had it marked on the agreement as full upon checkout. I will always now check the agreement before I leave. I was very disappointed that no actions were taken to rectify my situation. But I have no proof other than my word. Lesson learned.
Extremely Disappointed - Predatory Fees & Bad Faith"
I rented a car with SIXT (RA 9606928384) and was shocked to be charged $71.44 for tolls. The actual toll usage was only $7.48, but SIXT added $63.96 in 'administrative fees' ($15.99/day). This is an 850% markup! To make matters worse, they charged my credit card while a formal dispute was still open and being discussed via email. Total lack of transparency, honesty, and respect for the consumer. I do not recommend SIXT to anyone. They prioritize abusive profits over customer service.
This was our 2nd use of SIXT. They seem to be new so pick up was a longer walk to the back of the rental yards. But the orange signs stand out. Pick up and delivery in CHCH was just fine, but the return delivery in Brisbane was full of anxiety. As said the return park was right at the back of the ABBN car park and hard to find.
More orange signs needed but mostly a better briefing or map to help guide the uninitiated to the carpark BEFORE the journey.on line info equally bad. The directions constantly leading one to the ABBN domestic terminal when we were looking for the International terminal a full mile away.i recommend you sort it all out before leaving the pick up office.
Otherwise a tikkityboo rental.
Thessaloniki airport car rental was fantastic! We did accept a small upsell in order to return the car without refueling. Of course, the cost was higher than refueling ourselves, but since we needed to be back at the airport early it was worth the cost, and the front desk person added a car upgrade into the mix, so our economy car was upgraded to a 2025 hybrid. Great car! The return process was extremely easy. At no point was anything confusing or anything other than pleasant. The staff we interacted with were unfailingly great. Excellent experience.
Very positive experience with Sixt, in Bari summarizing: 1. Smooth process of taking over the allocated car, both at reception and then simply taking keys from an automatic locker. Important is to take pictures of the scratches if needed at the hand over. 2. Very professional approach at reception. 3. High quality car received, over the one booked, in fact a car with only 1200 km. And the other cars in the parking very also looking only in premium category. 4. Easy handover with a staff, 5 minutes max, not searching non-existing scratches like usually is happening at other companies. Summarizing, even if paid a premium price the services very premium and a bit more. Thanks Sixt for experience!
SIXT delivers luxury cars at a fair price. I had a weekday special which allowed me to rent a BMW at a cheaper rate than the other rental companies for their intermediate sized rental. The pick up and drop off was easy and text and email communication while I had the rental was very appreciated. Highly recommend and will rent from SIXT in the future for sure!
