This relates to the shop in Val Claret, Tignes called Deep Snow.I had been pre-warned fromTrustpilot to beware hiring skis from SkiSet.But we were going to Tignes and we were hiring the skis through TUI as part of our package.Looking on TripAdvisor for the specific SkiSet shop, “Deep snow”, in Val Claret, there were some customers that were happy with the service they received, so we pre-booked our skis and boots with TUI, specifying the Intermediate skis and the best boots. From the moment we walked in the door, we could tell that the staff just wanted to service us as quickly as possible, which was so uncomfortable. On top of this, you would not believe the state of the boots we were given. They were wet inside, and must have been two or three years old and scratched to pieces and with badly worn soles.I asked for some a bit larger and out came yet another ready for the scrap heap! This was the start of March, so not at the start of the season, but also not the end. After much complaining, I was reluctantly given a brand new pair, with much huffing and puffing.Incidentally, I am used to sharp skis in Austria for hard packed snow – these were blunt. Please TUI, don’t use these people, it just reflects badly on a professional organisation. So the moral is, don’t be tempted by special offers if this is the service you get – go elsewhere for your equipment. The end of the story is that the resort was closed the next day for the virus, so we never got to ski at all!
I paid for an upgrade online that wasn't available in the shop. I queried it at the time, but was told I was wrong. A simple internet search when back in the UK showed that I had been right all along and I asked for a partial refund. The response from their customer services was as follows:"STAY AT HOME NEXT TIME IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY."I won't be using them again.
SkiSet Seefeld In Tyrol, Austria. They made us feel very welcome by being very friendly and chatty, with a sense of humour! They were very attentive as we were novice cross country skiers and we even had a Schnapps when we returned our skis as it’s Christmas Day!!Thank you very much for making our Christmas enjoyable!
I crossed paths with skiset commercially a while back. I see from Linkedin that the same people run it now. They offered significant kickbacks to represent them but insisted on terms and methods that we felt significantly compromised integrity so we refused to deal with them. As a result of that experience, when I see websites advertising a partnership with them, I personally tend to trust those sites less.
I clicked onto their site from a link on a mountain site for our Whistler holiday - offering a discount on ski hire a week before our trip. Wish I hadn’t. I ordered skis only to discover that the $ quote for skis was apparently for US$ not C$ - not made clear till afterwards. I immediately contacted Skiset and they told me the would refund. Now more than 4 weeks later and still no refund - they seem to have stolen my money and I get electronic email responses. Worse - when I got to Whistler and rented I realised the price they were offering was more than twice what I actually paid locally. No discount, no service, misrepresentation and more. STAY AWAY. I will be contacting authorities as I suspect a scam.
Awful company.Returned skis and equipment to the shop following an injury. Was told in the shop, if I showed the website the voucher the shop gave me, the website would refund. There then followed a never-ending demand for documentation and stuff not alluded to in the shop before eventually, they offered a refund. The refund was delayed. No apology. Just rubbish, the whole set up.
Terrible rip off. Charge more than SkiShop!SkiSet was recommended by the Ski Club of GB but I will never use them again. I paid them in advance for ski hire. My friend hired same skis in the same shop for same number of days and paid close to HALF my price (I paid CHF110, she paid CHF53). I emailed their customer services to complain and after 3 rude emails from them still no explanation.
Awful, terrible customer service. Worst I've ever encountered in my life. Unbelievable. Booked a specific category online - the shop could not supply the right skies, 0% refund. They try to get away with comparing the skies they show on the website with ske skies in the shop as "similar skies" when it is full rocker black crows compared to piste skies. They've basically stolen my money. Worst company in the alps. A shame for the skiing industry.
