Experience In Chamonix, The “premium” skis they rented to me fell apart after 1 day of use and then

Experience In Chamonix, The “premium” skis they rented to me fell apart after 1 day of use and then they try to charge me €800 for 1 ski at the end of the season.

I feel pretty pissed off as I had noticed signs of lamination at the start of the days rental, but didn’t think much of it and continued skiing.

I asked the *blonde lady with glasses* to see how many times the skis had been used before on the system to see if it would be an under warranty with Dynstar or if I was just the “straw that broke the camels back” after 20 uses. She was very reluctant to share this information and called me a “bad person”. Maybe something to hide on the system!

I looked up how much the skis cost to buy online and they are €400 for 2 skis.

*The lady with Blonde hair and glasses* is getting visibly angry with me because she cant provide any evidence and ends up pointing to some bogus information, but looks like there are over 12 lines.

So we have a little breather and I come back later, and the discussion continues. We agree that they call the Gendarmerie because I am not paying €800 for a ski I didn’t damage.

The Gendarmerie only speak French to the ski rental shop and find a middle ground of €500.

As I leave *the lady with blonde hair, a bad attitude and glasses* said “I hope you break your legs on those skis”. I question what she said because that is abhorrent to suggest that I break my legs, and she quickly changes her message. Gendarmerie don’t seem too fussed.

Skiset feel free to give me a call. Got some questions to answer in Chamonix.

We used Skiset Goitschel Sport IV in Val Thorens and they were great…

We used Skiset Goitschel Sport IV in Val Thorens for our skis, boots and helmets. We were a group of 10 and each person received great individual care and attention. The staff were friendly and efficient and as people's needs changed throughout the week they were happy to make adjustments and change equipment. We were recognised when we went to return our equipment and that process was equally speedy and efficient. We would definitely use this shop again and would recommend it to others.

Avoid.

Really awful experience at Skiset @ Folie Douce Chamonix. Having paid a higher price to rent near the Savoy slopes, they had run out of skis and wanted to charge us extra for a very scrappy pair of slalom skis. Fortunately we were able to cancel for a full refund and took our custom to Ekosport instead. The customer service was absolutely appalling, amongst the worst I have ever received in France - and I’ve lived here for 10 years.

I like jokes

I like jokes - but not when I do pay for a "service".

Appalling customer servcie - Skiset Ski Land in Avoriaz

Used Skiset Ski Land in Avoriaz. The customer service from the older members of staff was shockingly rude, dismissive and completely unhelpful. The younger staff at least attempted to assist but they were clearly overshadowed by their senior colleagues. They failed to provide ski boots that fitted properly. When we returned to change them, we were bluntly told to leave and come back at closing time, despite the shop being completely empty. The customer service was unacceptable and unprofessional, especially when customers are paying for properly fitted and safe equipment. It was an awful experience and it nearly ruined our holiday. DO NOT recommend!!!

Avoid at all cost!

Skishop Skiset Crozats- avoid at all cost!Unless you like the sound of 45 min wait to be served, rude owner and old/broken equipment. We had 5% discount though the skiing company which perhaps made the owner think he can give us the oldest and most worn-out skies and shoes. I made a point of it as especially the ones for the kids were quite worn out, at which point the owner got very aggressive and started shouting and cursing in French. They said they won’t have any other for us. The latch for one of the skies was broken and the shoes kept falling off at bigger turns. Do yourself a favor and don't be like us - do your research, read reviews and find another shop that won't ruin your experience.Such at a shame as everything else at Avoriaz was amazing - accommodation, food, lessons, slopes, people.

Skiset gave us the incorrect address…

Skiset gave us the incorrect address for the ski hire shop, which meant we missed a days skiing. When I followed this up with skiset post trip, they tried to blame the shop and then us. Own your mistake and take accountability. I would recommend going somewhere else.

NEVER again!

The manager was very helpful but the two other men had no manners at all and were absolutely terrible and very rude. Will NEVER be going back to that horrible place EVER!!!!!

Remember to take pictures of the skis…

Remember to take pictures of the skis you’re given. They tried to make me pay 800 euros for a scratch, but when I told them I had bought insurance on the first day, they suddenly only wanted 250 euros. I still thought that was a lot of money, so I kept arguing that they couldn’t prove the scratch wasn’t there when I got the skis. In the end, he offered that I could just pay him 50 euros under the table.
