I recently enjoyed a stay with Solmar Villas at a stunning villa in Corfu. As someone who had never experienced a villa holiday before, I was a little apprehensive, but I’m officially converted! The entire booking process was seamless, the villa itself was absolutely beautiful, and we loved the freedom of living like locals for a week. I’ll definitely be looking for another villa stay next year!
Starting with the POSITIVES Efficient process of booking through Solmar Villas online.Villa Name : Villa Artemisia- Coral Bay.Villa spacious, with good range of utensils.Good location, Villa is close to shops, main activities. There were a few issues with toilet flooding on arrival, air con not easy to control and navigate. Contacted Solmar helpline and they were quick to respond.Nice Pool which was cleaned twice a week. NEGATIVESOn arrival ants on work surface source was coming from food at the bottom of dirty unemptied bin in the kitchen- easily cleaned and emptied by me. Ants no longer a nuisance! With flooding a disappointing start. Villa furnishings are tired and many are in need of replacing, legs on outside Charis missing screw and unsafe to sit on. Many cats sleeping on outside seating cushions so unable to use. Fouls smell in downstairs bedroom en-suite (& outside pool area) plus a couple of cockroaches,(there were sprays under sink so they was used frequently) Location surrounding Villa horrendous - dark with no lighting and piles of rubbish, old mattress etc just as well the villa is surrounded by trees to block out these sights, however smell from rubbish unavoidable. I have taken pictures of this area if needed. I think the Solmar need to review and assess the Villas that they are renting with a little more care.
It was a relaxing time with very helpful polite staff. Only the ones with cars need to close the gate after they come in or depart. The other thing was the shower it was lovely but we couldn’t get the over head one to work. Everything else was lovely Thsnk you
Had in incredible week away in Kefalonia with friends staying at the Villa Sorian Prasino. The view out over the infinity pool was simply stunning... the villa itself was exceptional - full kitchen, spacious rooms and an outdoor bbq, garden and pool area that made the entire week feel totally luxurious. The local area, with bakeries, cafes, bars and restaurants all walkable was a delight and the beach was both idyllic and beyond insta-worthy with it's mountainous backdrop. Cannot recommend enough!!
Our complaints, whilst staying at one of the 3 villas that we rented for the month, were completely ignored until months after our return. There was no hot water, rarely any internet ants all over the kitchen on our arrival, the bath emptied in its entirety on to the bedroom floor and reading past reviews had been doing so for about 6 years. We also had issues with the car hire they provided. The villa, which used to be stunning had become quite run down. On the positive side, they do have some lovely villas at reasonable prices.
I have used this company twice before the first time was amazing, but the second time was awful. We booked a villa for 9 people and the Villa we booked slept 16. After complaining to about the condition of the Villa , it was dirty. The sofas were stained the pillows had saliva stains on them, there was mould in every bathroom and some of the appliances were held together with gaffer tape. I was responded to with an email that said they were sorry I was disappointed. Having spent an absolute fortune on this holiday, I would’ve expected a little bit more than and I’m sorry you’re disappointed. I emailed them again with photos and an explanation and I have heard nothing back. This is a real shame as we have Villa holidays every year, but we won’t be using this company again.
