Villa Coelha was just like the photos on Solmar's web site. The views were amazing and we were only a 5 minute walk from the nearest beach with other beaches again in walking distance. We were also able to walk to some fabulous restaurants in the evening - O Marinheiro, Olive Bistro and Garden, and Restaurante Pôr do Sol were our favourites.There was a little supermarket in a hotel which was a 15 minute walk and a big Spar which was a 25 minute walk. As you can tell we didn't hire a car. If we needed to go further afield we got ubers which were 5 Euros to the marina/old town for example.Even though we had other houses and villas nearby, it was nice and quiet. The villa was clean and tidy, nice pool (it gets very deep - 2 metres - very quickly so you would have to be careful with children) and fantastic showers, inside and out. We felt very secure with the shutters on every window/patio door. We had a problem with one of the shutters but we rang Solmar and someone came and fixed it within a couple of hours.All the appliances seemed to work ok although we didn't try the oven or BBQ and never managed to work out the TV. We could get Netflix to work (if we signed in using our own account) but couldn't find any other channels that worked. Instructions would have been useful, however, this wasn't a big deal as we'd rather look out at the view!There was an elderly Portugese couple with their dog, Robbie, living behind us who were lovely - very friendly even though they couldn't speak any English.Overall it was everything we hoped. As for Solmar themselves, when we booked the email I received confirming our booking said 'our dedicated villa specialist will call you in the next couple of days to run through your booking and answer any questions you may have.' Well, that never happened but when I did contact them with questions, they were quick to respond. We also booked transfers through them and they were good (particularly the one who picked us up from the airport who was very welcoming, funny and gave us lots of recommendations).So I would use Solmar again and definitely recommend Villa Coelha.
Solmar villas as a company were great, communication was excellent from booking to whilst we were there and until we left. Unfortunately we found Villa kiwi in Javea to be tired, the cleaning needed a lot more attention. I dropped something which rolled under the bed and when I fished it out it was covered in dust and hair, there was also an empty plastic wrapper under there too. Dust everywhere especially on top of bathroom tiles. Don’t know what she cleaned but not the villa, when we arrived at 4.10 pm she was still there and didn’t leave till well after 4.30. Not good when you want to relax after being up since 4 am.Bit cheeky to leave a cleaning kit as a welcome pack.No comfortable outdoor seating, terrible rusty sunbeds. Double bed was so uncomfortable that we slept in single beds in other room.Bathroom fittings rustyShower took for ever to drainFloors dirtyWhite towels were grubby,old looking and very small.Missing tiles in pool.Such a shame as we expected more from such a great company.
1 wk stay at Villa Maria Pollensa, Majorca from 30.08Numerous issues during our holiday with over 20 calls texts and emails with Solmar meaning there was only 1 day of our holiday that I was not having to contact the helpline or other company reps. It took over 10 calls, reporting 7 different issues until it was decided my case should be escalated to a villa manager in the area, but even then we did not get a personal visit, just calls. We have been holidaying in villas in and around Pollenca for 40 years using lots of different villa companies and in all instances we would always have a personal visit from a rep if any minor issues arose. Based on my experiences and the issues we had (partially functioning toilets, broken air con remote, water level warnings) I cannot imagine what must happen to you for Solmar to decide you deserve a rep visit.There was really no proactivity in the management of my issues. I was ringing the helpline to get updates rather than Solmar contacting me, and when they did it was to clarify a detail of one of our issues (which of the 2 toilets at the villa was not working even though I had stated this when reporting the issue to the helpline the night before) and then to notify me my case had been escalated.Also, given the high number of calls to the helpline and the number of issues we had, there was no customer care follow up on our return from holiday - apart from generic emails and marketing emails etc.One other thing that I definitely did not expect from a high quality Villa hire company is that there were NO TOILET ROLLS in either of the bathrooms. Luckily we had brought some with us so we could use the toilet before going to a supermarket. I expect to buy more but to not have any on arrival - that was another first in our 40 years of villa use.Based on our experience we will NEVER use Solmar Villas again, and would not recommend them to any family, friends or colleagues.
This is a terrible company . We stopped in a villa in Cyprus . There was no welcome basics , rusty oven dishes . Pool lads come twice a week on wednesday spent bout 2 hours cleaning pool and tidying garden then come back Friday we wouldn’t let them in baring in mind we leave the Sunday so should come the Sunday . We had aftershave stolen was still in box we left on dining table but thought I must have put it somewhere it will turn up .day I noticed had gone we heard banging in the night but thought must be air con banging doors but wasn’t really strong enough when thought about it . Then when we came home I went to get my money out of my purse and my £280 had gone and my debit card , in my husbands wallet 20 euros had gone . I contacted jet2 and filled form in and contacted Solmar to inform them as it’s their villa and they had the attitude of fill form in and that was it . I explained this was very frightening that someone has been in when we were asleep and imagine if we had come downstairs so they must have got keys and been in as we only went down to village for breakfast and straight back and I used my monzo card for anything I bought but just take bit cash just in case .so pool guys or cleaners and how often do they change key codes . But all Solmar say fill form in . Which we have but no reply apologising for it and say look into it . I rung them again and said jet 2 looking into it . Sorry like it’s Solmar problem not jet2 .I would never book thru these again if this is the way they treat customers
We stayed at this villa during our holidays in Majorca and were very disappointed overall.Outdated interior: The villa looked nothing like the photos online. The pictures must have been taken a long time ago, as the interior was old and quite worn out.Plumbing issues: The showers were not clean, and the pipes were in terrible condition – everything got clogged constantly, which made daily use frustrating.Poor bedding: The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable and of very poor quality, which even caused back pain during our stay.Electricity problems: The kitchen had an electrical failure. When we came back from a day out, all the food we had bought (around €100 worth of groceries) was spoiled. No compensation was offered for this loss, and even worse, we never managed to get the issue fixed. Each day we tried to contact them via WhatsApp, but every time we started from scratch with no real solution provided.The only positives were the location – very close to Alcudia, a charming little town – and the overall calm and quiet surroundings.Unfortunately, despite these few positives, the villa was far below expectations. It urgently needs maintenance, better customer service, and proper management before being rented out again.
Booked Villa Damaskina, Gennadi, Rhodes through Solmar Villas, for September 2025, Great communication after booking, prior to arrival from Solmar and Liza the manager of the villa, who confirmed via WhatsApp key collection, gates etc... Fantastic villa, exactly to the pictures, local village 10 minute walk, which had a supermarket, bakery and great tavernas, restaurants. We booked Solmar taxi transfer which was excellent both ways, we hired a car from a local provider, prior to arriving,which arrived as we did, which worked out great. We were looked after for pool, maintenance and cleaning by Rocco and his wife Lillie-Anna, super couple, very friendly. This villa gives a great base for exploring, has everything you need, very comfortable beds, very clean, space to chill outside in the evening, eat alfresco. Great villa, great stay, thank you
The island of Skopelos was a fantastic destination. The villa, with its infinity pool, was delightful.Solmar reps were extremely helpful with the boat transfer from Skiathos to Skopelos and the subsequent return, but it does make for a long journey time door-to-door.
Stayed at the villa last week and had a fantastic holiday, 2 minutes walk to the beach, Pepe's Beach Bar, La Antigua and Mett hotel are all within minutes walk. The villa was immaculately clean and offered everything you could possibly need. Bart our host was super helpful and friendly and dropped by to help us manage the safe. Totally our mistake with instructions :( Will def stay here again. 5 stars isn't enough!
