Battery shut down in the middle of the night 47 days ago. I made contact with Australian support on day 2. After no help for 4 weeks they finally remotely diagnosed module failure and agreed to replace under warranty. I’m still waiting for their nominated tech to install the modules they claim to have dispatched 11 days ago. 47 days of extra power charges I should be compensated for.

Got a Sonnen hybrid system in 2020.

Got a Sonnen hybrid system in 2020.My inverter just stopped Working. This Will be the fifth time I Will get a new inverter installed in a little over five years.I thought I bought quality when buying german. That is not my experiance.

Save your money don’t buy

Save your money don’t buy. Our battery purchased in 2019 has been offline more than it’s been online. We did not know it was offline until we went to get Christmas decorations down. We contacted sonnen and they told us it had been offline for over a year !! They now want me to get an electrician out but give them his name and phone number so they can ring him and go through it with him but at my cost. When I told them I was badly injured in April and still so could not work to afford that they told me ok we will close your case down. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Do not waste your money on these batteries.

No Customer after service!

This is A terrible company. I have been trying to contact the Balearic La Grotta Solar distributor without success despite spending over €60,000.02 years ago no one answers the phone. I have also contacted Son and DIRECT and had no reply.

Sonnen Battery Systems and Customer Service are Horrible!

The Sonnen system only worked for 2 years. Tried for two more years to get them to fix it but their service was very bad. After waiting two years for them to fix it, they would no longer honor the warranty since it had been down for over a year. Very bad product and company.

Near non-existent customer service

Had a Sonnen Eco battery system fitted in March 2019 and for the most part the system has been faultless. In December 2023 I had my first issue with a failed module. Although the module was replaced under warranty, it took 10 weeks for the repair to be completed. I am now having another issue which started in August 2025, again I emailed support and it has now been 4 weeks and still no idea when my issue will be rectified. Support is basically non-existent, if you don't continually email them, they won't give you any updates. For the money this brand costs, you would think they would have a better support service. Sadly this is not the case. I have given them 2 stars but I would rate the product as 4 stars but the support as 1 star. I am located in Australia.

Biggest mistake ever

I tried to give this system a fair chance, but I 100% regret my purchase of the ECO10 system. We have had our system for 5 years and it has never worked as advertised. We’ve had battery failures in year 1 and more often than not every time they do a system update, it causes the system to malfunction. Every firmware update causes our generator settings to be changed without our knowledge and we don’t find out it doesn’t work until we have a power outage. Service is difficult to get a hold of and when you have an open ticket communication on the status is terrible. My system currently won’t draw down to back-up buffer and uses grid power all night. It says I have battery on the apps , but the main unit says the battery is at 0 and the system shuts down when we have a power outage. We live in one of the most expensive electric utility areas with frequent power outages and my system is buying power when I have battery and sending power to grid without charging batteries fully. The response I get from Sonnen Service is they are monitoring and according to their data everything is functioning. Well if they would get from behind their keyboards and actually have technicians come out, they would see that the system is not functioning as it should. I insisted on a replacement and am being ignored. Worst purchase mistake of my life and an expensive lesson.

Never again, lured into by advertisements and “other customer experience”

Never again! In the beginning all sounds good, battery for home use, easy to install, emergency power. You are happy and convinced but problems will start just 1-2 years after installing. Several problems started on our setup. Not much support from sonnen. If pieces are replaced you get other faulty pices as it was for us the case. After 2 years of problems, not much support on the sonnen side and no interest to have proper service and support on their products we are now completly changing our system all on our own costs. A very expensive “explorative journey into l faulty sonnen products” I wish I had not taken and I wished to have been more critical looking on their “advertisements” ensuring future users of an unfaulty system through what I think “paid” “happy” other customers.Maybe future users are more critical than my and go directly for other companies!

customer service doesn't seem to exist

My sonnenBatterie 10 failed exactly two years after purchase (permanent red light error). Despite four emails over 10 days, I’ve received no response from customer support. Calling their hotline is pointless—it’s impossible to get through.What’s especially frustrating: I’m based in Germany, near their back office, yet communication is nonexistent.Handing over to Verbraucherzentrale or lawyer now.
