I highly recommend the STA horary practitioner course to all those who are serious about astrology and want to take their skills to the next level. Beginners will immediately gain the foundational knowledge they'll need while experienced astrologers will find that the first sessions nicely complement what they already know. At the end, you can confidently judge horary charts with rigour but also flexibility. You learn a set of techniques and a number of philosophical principles which will guide you in your practice, no matter what charts you work with: horary, natal, electional. The course is very well organized and nicely paced. You have graded assignments at the end of every session, so that you don't slack off or get lost and you learn from living astrology legends such as Deb Holding and Lee Lehman.
As someone who is still relatively new to astrology, I feel enormously lucky to have discovered this course at this point. The tutors are exceptionally thoughtful, precise, and clear. Their focus on the practical side of astrology brings the whole art into new focus, something I have not seen to this degree elsewhere. Additionally, the work that is put into the course structure and the materials presented is of the highest quality and beyond that of other courses in any subject area. I say that as someone who has taken online courses from an Ivy League school.I appreciate the people behind this course, they seem to genuinely care about the present and the future of astrology and are committed to transmitting it through clear and empathetic instruction.
I took the horary practitioner's course and I understand some hesitancy about trusting so many 5 star reviews as I've been to some places for food where it was not actually 5 stars in terms of food quality. I promise you that this course really is 5 stars.Deborah Houlding has treated and nourished this course like her child and it shows. Her and her team teach you all the basics to make sure you feel competent as a practitioner of horary and she provides numerous ways to test and evaluate your understanding, including various chart discussions, which I hugely appreciated. One of the most helpful things I found was being able to ask questions on the forum and clarify and nuance topics. They do a good job of stating when techniques won't give you as much "bang for your buck," so are not things to focus on in terms of becoming a competent practitioner. I was hesitant about the cost at first, but now, having finished the course, I wish I had done it sooner. I hope to one day return and do the diploma course! I cannot recommend this course enough.
From the moment I received the introductory material for this course, I genuinely felt a portal open. I found my spot on the magic carpet and rode for twenty weeks entranced, with my jaw agape as we traveled through the stars and time itself! The course was impeccable. Our erudite tutors revealed Horary's mysteries with the greatest integrity, patience, and respect. Each week was challenging as the material was so cleverly structured to build a solid foundation for the fledgeling ~ or even seasoned ~ practitioner. This is an amazing course, very intense, deep and elaborated on both theoretical or practical level. Knowledge from the ancient sources of astrology so valuable and so difficult to acquiring by oneself are taught and transmitted to be used efficiently on reading horary chart.I also would like to thank the STA team for their professionalism and kindness as well as their readyness to answer quickly to all questions at anytime and their understanding for non English speaker like me !
The STA's Practitioners Level Horary Course is the best course I've ever had the pleasure to take in Astrology. Anyone interested in Traditional astrology and learning the intricate methods of this judicial branch of astrology could do no better than take this course: it is designed in such a way that you take in every aspect piecemeal in an much easier way than you would self-learning,; there is an overall pattern of teaching which makes the whole complex subject into a seamless learning material. Absolutely brilliant!
Hands down the clearest, most effectual instruction in the art of Astrology I have ever had the pleasure to receive. Before registering for this class I’d engaged in self-study and practice for years, so, going in my understanding wasn’t lacking. But as anyone who has spent some time in the sphere of all things astrological can attest: there are many varying opinions on how to approach this or that. At times I’d felt confused or scattered trying to connect all of the separate pieces. The STA's Practitioners Level Horary Course put a rest to all of that. The tutelage was brilliant, the work itself challenging in the best of ways, and the overall environment one of a cooperative space where sincere practitioners could study together without trouble. I've taken the STA horary course twice-- first in 2018, and then again in 2021 (after the curriculum was revised and expanded). The materials and the tutors are outstanding, and provide not only the 'basics' but lots of depth and nuance to the teachings.
Essential learning for every astrologer who takes the art seriously. While not easy, this is one of the most rewarding classes you can take in astrology, period! And there are plenty of opportunities to participate which will greatly increase your retention of what you learn. Each class is designed to take your knowledge deeper but at first they will seem separate and unconnected. Be patient and keep going anyway. At some point it all comes together in your mind, it's a sublime realization, and you will never look back at how you did things before (with modern astrology, etc). It's just the best!
Nothing beats a good teacher. A good teacher not only teach you what you need to know, but also inspire you and point you to the right direction. I've been searching for a good teacher for a long time and lucky me I found them here. The practitioner levels horary astrology course is well structured and easy to follow. The materials are spread out in 20 weeks in a nice way that a person who holds a full-time job can still follow without feeling overload. The course textbook and assignments are invaluable. They are designed in such a way that you know where to focus in each topic. The teachers are so wonderful. They guide, inspire, and build confidence in you. Personally I think the teachers have only one goal in mind: to help equip you with all you need to go out there and be a good practitioner.I consider myself lucky to study with the STA. When I first started I had only a vague idea of what horary astrology is. Now I am so totally in love with horary astrology and feel confident enough to go out and further explore the subject on my own. My teacher said that there is much to learn and we will be students all our lives, and I believe it. I can see it now. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
