Absolute disaster from the start: The server had data and I could not connect to it. So I did a manual reinstalled of the server, waited, but the server still had loads of prior data including someone else's saves. Plus to get admin permissions to change the server (or indeed connect to it in game) I had to request through the Support.
But then it got worse: Reinstalling the server from the hosting server did Not clear prior save game data, there were several servers that do not belong to me on there. At least after the intervention from Support I was able to create a server and have a few people join.
Then a week later we rejoin only to find out that the server is no longer mine; I no longer have Admin permissions to the server and the name has changed. So control of the server has been given to someone else, or maybe their data has been loaded overtop mine?
In any case, a frustrating waste of time & money. Basically just theft.
The support provided by these guys is top notch. they are always very fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. Shout out to Peter Quadro who handled my last support ticket. Great job! keep up the good work.
These are truly the best servers I have encountered. Once they are up and running, everything operates smoothly. If any issues arise, the support team is quite prompt in addressing errors and guiding you through solutions. Recently, a representative walked us through resetting, restoring a backup, and updating our server, which resolved the problems we were experiencing. However, the website itself leaves much to be desired and requires a significant overhaul. It tends to be slow on many days, making it difficult to access the control panel. But once you manage to get in, everything functions well. Don't let this deter you from trying their servers. We can only hope for an update in the future.
I have used Survival Servers off and on for a few years, now. Though I've not ever used my rentals as dedicated servers for a gaming community (I used them as experimental playgrounds more than anything else), the service I have received has always been exceptional! I have no reason to go anywhere else, and will be going back when I next have need of their product 😀
