The current Taskrabbot CEO has completely destroyed what was once an excellent model for both Clients and Taskers. It has consistently diminished in every way except for their exorbitant fees. The app is now infested with bigots, scammers, racists, and extremely mentally unstable "people" on both the Tasker and Client side. The "algorithm" that Taskrabbit uses to assign tasks is extremely BIGOTED, BIASED, and beyond nonsensical. Taskers assigned to tasks they are unqualified for and those who are qualified passed over repeatedly except to "fix" issues from unqualified "first responders". There is NO LOYALTY from these people and they seem to go out of their way to prove that. Very COLD, very immature and certainly not a spirit of community. I could say MUCH more, but what is the point? I have "met" the CEO and experienced the team and the current state of the business is exactly what I would expect based on the VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, EXTREMELY COLD and VERY BIGOTED and UNFRIENDLY manner I experienced at their offices and otherwise. Very sad, but not at all unlike the overwhelming vast majority of corporations these days.
Michael crushed it!
Hired him to move a massive sofa bed all by himself—up stairs and everything. Showed up on time, super professional, handled the heavy beast like a pro with no damage or fuss. Fast, careful, and friendly. Absolute legend—highly recommend! 5/5 stars, would hire again instantly.
I found a great helper, but I was surprised by the $20 fee- perhaps I should have read all of the fine print because I think a fee is reasonable for a service like this, but that much seems high for 1 hour of help.
The app is horrible and feels like stealing. I booked the 2 taskers moved their time to the next day and was charged twice for 1 hour of work. I've tried to reach out through support to correct, and it's impossible to reach anyone without investing significant time. The poor support appears to be intentional to avoid refunds.
Nice to have access to taskers who can help with certain needs and task around the house and the people for hire are usually good at getting the job done. But the additional fees that Taskrabbit charges and keeps for itself are pretty high and makes the service pretty un affordable. Because they charged their fee on top of every single hour that you hire a Tasker not just a one time fee for the job, but they get their fee per hour.
I don't know what happened to this platform, but I had to reenter my info everytime I wanted to look at the price for a tasker. And then, I DO NOT know why they hide the add on fee until you are ready to check out. What a mess! Never again.
Getting on the site and making a password was most frustrating. I had to make 4 or 5 attempts and it was a total waste of my time. Your website needs to be upgraded and changed because it was not easy to simply apply a password. But the person I hired was terrific!
I ordered a wall unit from ikea and paid for assembly at that time. I didn't know who they were sending but was informed an assembler would be matched to the task. A date and person were assigned. The task took 7hrs with 2 people. The installation was horrible. Corners weren't squared, shelves were uneven and the brackets to attach to the walls weren't used. This is #1 in the instructions *WARNING serious fatal injuries can occur if these aren't used.
The 5 bracket boxes were left empty, suggesting they were used, but instead were stolen by the Tasker. There were numerous issues with the installation, including a large area of my hardwood floors scratched and unnecessary holes drilled in my wall. I returned unit to Ikea. I emailed TaskRabbit asking for my assembly cost returned and they said it was Ikeas responsiblity. TaskRabbit paid for my wall to be repaired and floor scratches buffed. I asked several times for the assembly money returned. Although they sympathized with my situation, they didn't agree it was their responsibility. It was a TaskRabbit assembler that did a very substandard job which could have been fatal had I put objects in the top cupboards and it fell on a grandchild etc. There could have been a expensive lawsuit instead of providing the $340 assembly fee returned. Unfortunately they don't agree.
First experience with task rabbit was just a quick errand for a package pickup on a day with a particularly bad snowstorm before I was set to leave town on a long trip. It was easy and fast and my tasker was great to work with. Awesome service.
I’m writing to express my frustration with a recent task booking and, more broadly, with the recurring reliability issues I’ve experienced on this platform.
The Tasker messaged to say she would be approximately an hour late. After that hour passed, I reached out to request an updated ETA, but she stopped responding altogether. Unfortunately, this has become a pattern rather than an isolated incident.
As a consumer, when a task is booked, I reasonably expect the job to be completed as scheduled or, at the very least, to receive clear and consistent communication. To date, I have had three different tasks canceled or abandoned at the last minute, which has resulted in entire days being wasted while I waited.
This experience has been disappointing, and I’m not satisfied with the level of reliability or accountability currently being demonstrated. I would appreciate understanding what steps are being taken to address these ongoing issues.
