I wish there was a 'zero stars' option! I called customer service and spoke with three representatives, none of whom could assist me. The second representative was in a noisy environment, making it hard to hear her as she placed me on hold multiple times. I had confirmed my account number and the last four digits of my social security number multiple times, yet she still asked for my full credit card number, which I refused. The manager was equally unhelpful, transferring me to a line that led to a dead end. I've been with this bank since before it was TD, and the service has really declined. To make matters worse, they raised the minimum account balance from $100 to $250 without explanation or added benefits!
I wish there was a 'zero stars' option! I recently called the customer service line and spoke with three different representatives, none of whom truly helped me. The second person I spoke to was working from home in what sounded like a construction zone, and I could barely hear her as she placed me on hold multiple times. I had already confirmed my full account number and the last four digits of my social security number twice through the automated system, yet she still asked for my full credit card number, which I refused to provide. The manager was equally unhelpful and transferred me to another line that led to a dead end after claiming she was sending me to a different department. I've been with this bank longer than they’ve been called TD, and the service has really declined. To add insult to injury, they raised the minimum account balance from $100 to $250 starting this January without any explanation or additional benefits!
After spending three years disputing my losses with the bank through various complaints, the conclusion was that I had to absorb a consumer loss, and there was nothing the bank could do. I moved my funds out and closed my accounts, only to continue receiving email statements for accounts I no longer hold, including a credit card they closed four years ago. Even when I needed to wire my money out, they made me wait over four hours at the branch only to inform me of limits on transfers, complicating the process over several days. Other banks allow you to manage this via their app.
Caution, if you own a business, this bank has terrible customer service. My business account was closed without any notice. Employees, from tellers to branch managers, seem indifferent and disregard what you have to say. If you seek an explanation, they often stop talking and walk away. This has been my experience at every branch I visited over the years. It's the worst bank with unprofessional customer service.
My father had a trust account that he passed away from. The bank is reluctant to provide the funds to his heirs. We’ve dealt with other financial institutions that were straightforward, but after four years with this bank, we still have no resolution. His account specified beneficiaries and their respective shares. They keep asking for unnecessary documents, despite having received the death certificate and other legal paperwork. The representatives seem incompetent, but it feels deliberate as they seem to want to withhold the funds.
It's disheartening that our once-favorite bank has become one of the most inconvenient banks. Our family has held accounts with them for three generations since they were Commerce Bank. Recently, we've faced numerous issues, such as locked ATM cards and difficulty resolving problems over the phone. The fees for non-network ATMs and foreign transactions are excessive. The customer service over the phone is the worst. My father's card got locked while he was abroad, and when he called, he was asked ridiculous questions for verification. He was told to go to a branch, even though he was in the hospital. When he requested to verify using a recent statement, it was rejected. The representative was rude and unhelpful. Essentially, if you can't visit a branch in person, you’re left without support.
The bank is delaying payments to me from online platforms. It's nearly impossible to reach anyone by phone; I've called several times without an answer. What is happening at this branch? This is the worst service I've ever encountered. I've lived in multiple states and have never faced such poor service. Ultimately, I'll have to visit in person, but as a 77-year-old veteran, I'm not well enough to do so. I’ll need a friend to drive me. It's disgraceful how this bank operates.
