Cannot recommend enough. Amazing support - the course is really well structured with daily lessons

Cannot recommend enough. Amazing support - the course is really well structured with daily lessons and weekly catch up calls. The community is fantastic and non judgemental. Ive been sober now for over a year - after years and years of moderations and medication this is the method which worked for me and continues to help me thrive. So proud to say Im a member of The Sober School.

A whole new world since July 2022.

I had my last drink on 23rd June 2022. I remember it well, actually it was several drinks and on the morning of the 24th with a banging head and feeling sick to the pit of my stomach at the night before I vowed I would never drink again. But HOW? Luckily for me, I somehow found Kate online and she persuaded me to give her course a go. To say I am glad I did is an understatement. The 6 week course seemed quite expensive but was brilliantly structured. Drip by drip, day by day, things started to shift and at the end of the course I felt my brain had been rewired. The support was fabulous, connections were made gradually with the other women and a whole new world of clarity and joy opened up to me. I then joined the Stay Sober Club which further solidified my life as a proud non drinker. Thanks Kate and your fabulous team.

The Sober School is a game changer

I feel the Getting Unstuck Course should be available on the NHS.Turn the clock back 2 years and 4 months ago I was scared and ashamed that I couldn’t stop drinking. Doing the 6 weeks course gave me knowledge and support. I was amazed by my progress and have continued to stay with the club after the initial course had finished. The Sober School has changed my life completely with my mental wellbeing and my physical health. The investment I made for myself has given me more than money could ever buy.

Total lifestyle upgrade - 2.5 years alcohol free!

After I took a chance and joined the Getting Unstuck Course in October 2023, I left alcohol behind and never looked back. Kate's insights, sincerity, and compassion are unparalleled. If you are weary or anxious about your drinking, give yourself the gift of the Sober School.

Best decision I ever made

The structured nature of the daily input in the 6 week course was the best thing for me. I kept the journal regularly. The input is well informed and the ability to communicate with others on line was great for me too. I have been enjoying my sober life since 5 January 2025.

A must for all women wanting to give up alcohol.

This is a fabulous place to get support with giving up alcohol. It is women only so it is all like minded females who can chat openly to each other and get all the support they need. There are up to 3 live zoom calls a week for any issues you have or just to say hi and get support and encouragement. The best part about it is that all the people who run'/help with this group have been exactly where you are . Can't recommend it highly enough. It also encourages self growth.

76 year old from ‘Down Under’

I am a 76 year old, living in Australia. I signed up for this course back in September 2024. After the course, I then joined the club, as I felt I still needed some ongoing support. It is now the end of January 2026 - 500 days sober! - and I have never regretted my initial decision to ‘give it a go’. Kate Bee is a fantastic person and, along with the coaches, this ‘School’ has not only changed my life for the better, but has helped hundreds of other women of all ages from all over the globe to give up that “one glass of wine”! Can’t thank her enough.

Highly recommended!

I had been concerned about drinking for a long time, particularly it’s affects on my mental and physical health. I saw Sober School advertised, and I was curious. Luckily I put my trust in Kate and can quite honestly say that it has been life changing. Since joining I don’t feel alone with my problem and realise there are so many more women out there struggling like I was. Kate has created a fantastic course which is well researched and delivered skilfully in easy to manage daily parts. It’s up to you how much you put in or take out. The group calls are a lifeline and you can reach out to the coaches and other group members to help you at any time. I have learnt so much about myself and why I just couldn’t become ‘unstuck’ all by myself. It’s great to have the support of the Sober School Community. Thank you Kate.

I never thought I could be one of those people who "got sober". How could that possibly happen to me

It was the end of 2016 and I had seen an advert for The Sober School. At that time I was desperate to stop drinking. Waking up in the morning with a stomach full of nerves and looking in the mirror, wishing that today would be the day that I didn't have a drink. But I let the advert slip because I was like.. Would this work? Who is this person? It surely couldn't work for me. So Xmas came and went and after a disastrous drinking episode on mothers day I actively searched to see when the next course was starting. It was April 2017! And I joined. But.. 3 days into the course and I was still drinking. Oh no I knew it couldn't happen to me, I was destined to be a failure. So I emailed Kate and told her what was happening. Kate kindly wrote back and actively encouraged me to share how I was feeling with the group. I did this and the support flooded in. I felt like I was part of a community, cared for and this gave me the smallest belief that maybe I could do this. And there it was, 6 April 2017, was my last drink. I absolutely loved the course content. I couldn't wait each day for the daily email. I didn't want the 6 weeks to end. I learned so much from those 6 weeks it really helped me navigate my way through lots of life's difficulties. But let's be clear here. Giving up drinking was super hard! I could have bitten my left arm off at times. I had tears, anger and lots of emotions happy, sad, euphoria, all racing around my head at the same time. But know this. It was absolutely worth it. After a while all the drinking noise calmed down and I embraced sober life. I felt like I had a super power and my life changed for the better. I will forever be grateful to Kate and The Sober School.

Business Details

  • The Sober School helps women to put down the wine glass and create alcohol-free lives they love.

Founded by Kate Bee in 2016, we specialise in supporting "grey zone" drinkers - women who use alcohol as a coping mechanism but don't fit traditional recovery models.

Our flagship programme, Getting Unstuck, is a 6-week online course that teaches practical skills for managing urges, emotions and triggers without relying on willpower or white-knuckling. We use cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques and causal coaching to help women understand why they drink and create lasting change.

At The Sober School, we see sobriety as an upgrade to your life, not a deprivation. We focus on what you gain - not what you're giving up - so you can create the alcohol-free life you deserve.See more
