Scam company, don't buy from them. Like others, I ordered a hard copy of a book and received a link for a PDF. Based on the other reviews, I don't plan to try to get my money back. Maybe if I had charged it I would, but I stupidly paid with Venmo

SCAM Alert! I ordered a "Hardcover" book…

I ordered a "hardcover" book on Feb 13th and paid with my VISA. On Feb 15th, the VISA charge hit. On February 20th I emailed the company and asked about the progress of my book. They replied that they had already sent it, it was an eBook, and to check my spam filter. There is was: a link to a download. This is NOT what I ordered. I sent a screenshot of my order from their website back to the seller... it clearly showed "Hardcover" as the book format. Got a longer email that said basically "sorry, you already got the link, we can't refund and won't send you a hardcover." I finally googled the website and found these reviews. In a way, it was a relief to find out that I wasn't crazy... and that "Releford" is a very bad man. I had this happen once before, several years ago, but it was from a foreign website. Thetopbok website looks legitimate, including a physical address in KY and a phone number... I thought it was the real deal. IT IS NOT. I don't know what one can do, where one can report, or how this can be stopped... and the owner of this SCAM knows that. What I did do is go to my VISA billing online and file a report. I got my $10 back and I let them know that this was a SCAM-site and attached the link to this review site. I hope Mr. Releford is greatly inconvenienced and has to set up another website to continue his nasty ways. This sort of thing makes me very sad about my fellow man. I'm sorry if you were scammed... I hope people read this before making the same mistake I did.

I ordered a hardcover book and was…

I ordered a hardcover book and was scammed out of an actual book and instead received an ebook. When I sent an email I was sent on a neverending loop of AI responses that got me no where including no refund. I am filing a claim with PayPal. Buyer beware this is a scam.

Bait and switch! No customer service!

I ordered a hardcover and they insisted, despite photo evidence to the contrary, and MULTIPLE emails that I had ordered a DOWNLOAD, not a physical book. No help, no book!

Scam

Scam! I ordered two hardback books and received downloads instead. When I emailed the company, they stated I ordered digital copies. The screen automatically defaults to “hardcover” and you would have to purposely change your selection to not order a hardcover book. There is no way to talk to a human, only email. They will not answer any of my follow up emails. The digital copies are of no use to me as I am unable to read screens for an extended period of time nor do I want to print all those pages on my own. Do not do business with this company. UPDATE: I received an second email from them stating I could not receive a refund because it was a digital order. I am not the only one that has had this problem.

SCAM website/company!

Placed an order for what I thought was a hardcover book. I never received an order confirmation email with order number or anything similar. It stated very clearly on the product page that I was purchasing a hardcover book. When I reached out to the company, they stated that I had purchased an ebook, which I had not. If you look at the website product page I included, it clearly states "hardcover," and that is what I chose. I repeatedly emailed them back throughout the day today, but I get the same email response each time - I'm convinced it's a random automated message and I'm never emailing with an actual human. I got my money back, but only after opening a case with PayPal. If you look them up online, which I should have done from the start, the details are few and a bit sketchy. DO NOT trust this "company."

Book never received

I ordered a hardcover book from thetopbok.com. I never received the book. They didn’t send a confirmation email. The payment indicated I paid a “Tremaine Releford.” All replies come from a different email address. This is not a legitimate business.

Got scammed

Got scammed. It’s very clear when ordering you are requesting a hardcover book. Instead they sent me a link to the PDF of the book I ordered. When I emailed asking about the physical book, they told me I had ordered an ebook! All over the board. I do not believe this is a real company. If the PDF is actually of the book, I haven’t read it to know, I will be shocked—still not what I ordered. I have a screenshot of my order stating I ordered a hardcover copy. I’ve opened a case with Venmo (what I paid with) to try to get my money back.
