I took my Toyota to Toyota Vintage in Wakefield for heating maintenance. I am a driving instructor, so my car is essential for my job. Because of the problems with this repair, I lost three days of work having to repeatedly return the vehicle to the dealership.
After leaving my car with them for a full day, they failed to reinstall the dual pedal controls correctly. As a driving instructor, this equipment is critical. I had no choice but to take the car elsewhere at 10:30pm to have the pedals properly refitted so I could continue working.
The next day, I had to walk back to the dealership because the dashboard had not been reassembled correctly. There was a noticeable gap between the dashboard connectors, loose pieces hanging from underneath, and parts not fitted properly. I also found scratches on the gear stick and interior trim that were not there before. There appeared to be a large gap between connectors behind the dashboard, which was very concerning.
I explained all of this to the manager, Kelly. Initially, I was told there was nothing wrong. She later took the car back into the workshop and made adjustments, but small plastic screws are still dropping from underneath the dashboard. Although she acknowledged the gap and attempted to address it, I felt my concerns were dismissed and I was left without a proper explanation or reassurance.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the workmanship and customer service. Losing three days of income and having to arrange late-night repairs elsewhere is unacceptable. I expected a far higher standard of care and professionalism.

Rented a Yaris- thank heavens only rented it - and OMG!While the engine etc may be Toyota reliable, getting the driver's window to work - a miracle. The info system- eventually worked it out that it is just 20th century technology. Start the car- yep, if you hit the button a few times - works! Little things may be, but if I had bought one, I'd be swearing profusely every day, and regret not buying a Korean, e.g.
We purchased a car early summer, very happy with the car, performance and customer service, however we encountered a well versed issue (google search) with Plug in Hybrid Toyota cars; the 12v battery draining leaving the car rendered dead. After two recoveries and the purchase of a battery booster we contacted Toyota Yeovil to seek assistance. Having waited 24 hours for the warranty to be checked we were informed Toyota would not replace the battery. We have other personal and business cars from different manufacturers which don’t suffer this issue and if an issue is encountered the dealership provide a level of service which is highly recommended, unlike Toyota. This will be the last Toyota we purchase.
I bought a brand-new Toyota Camry believing I was investing in quality and reliability. What I got was a lemon—rattles, warning lights, phantom seatbelt alerts, and even strange chirping noises that make it sound like I’m chauffeuring a bird sanctuary. But the real disappointment hasn’t just been the vehicle. It’s been Toyota’s response.I spent weeks trying to work with their Denver Regional Office, only to be met with cold formality, legal technicalities, and zero effort to truly make things right. They followed the minimum obligations under lemon law—but showed no goodwill, no empathy, and no recognition of how much time, stress, and inconvenience I’ve endured.I didn’t buy a new car to fight tooth and nail for fair treatment. I chose Toyota based on reputation—but after this experience, I can say with full confidence: this company doesn’t stand behind its customers once the sale is made.Toyota has lost my trust—and likely the trust of many around me who are watching how this has been handled.
Bought a Toyota Corolla from Toyoto Leicester. I have now broken down 3 times. (23000 miles still in warranty)Toyoto service in Bourrnemouth, blamed memory stick, AA said rubbish, battery faulty. Toyota Cardiff said battery not covered under warranty.Toyota Leicester do not give a damn, Their manager will not even speak to me.Can't even sell the car as Log book sent to wrong address.Do not buy from Vertu !!!!!!
Contacted Toyota direct as well as my local dealership I purchased the car form, due to a dangerous fail with my vehicles hybrid system whilst driving on the motorway. Neither of them bothered to get back to me on the issue. To add insult, this happened before, which I reported and they again did nothing to fix the problem. My experience of Toyota in England with my previous vehicle was problem free, so I'm really shocked at the difference in service here. I've always found Toyota a good company. My experience form the DK branch has left me unimpressed.
Toyota uk cars are great whilst they work but we bought a new one which has an intermittent electrical fault. All the safety features cruise control etc crash frequently but we are told they can't be repaired until they are permanent. So we have a new car that is faulty 80% of the time and no one can do anything about it! Won't buy Toyota again.
