I did my gym and PT course via distance learning because I work full time, have 2 kids and 2 dogs. The support I got was next level. Everyone I spoke to when I called the help line was approachable and helpful and really kind. I always came off the phone feeling empowered which meant I felt confident when I videoed my assessments. The prices are great value for money which is always welcome.I 100% recommend them😊
Great course structure, very well explained and the workbooks after each section made sure you didn't miss out on anything. Also their support team get back to questions really quickly and are always super helpful. I've done my Level 2 Group Indoor Cycling certificate with TF and would definitely recommend
I've successfully finished the in-person method of one course and the distance method of another course with trainfitness and both had fantastic, in-depth content. At all times my questions were answered quickly and all the tutors provided great help. The assessors provided excellent feedback and instruction to help us reach the necessary proficiency. Highly recommended.
The online pt course is though, professionally delivered, and encompasses all the elements for qualification . Special thanks to Rose and Radak for your invaluable support! You really gave me confidence in myself. I will definitely do more courses with these guys.
As someone who is based abroad, I chose to do the virtual/distance learning option. The course content was good, and there was a lot of valuable information, if you're someone who is happy to learn by yourself (which I am). However, the issue that arises is the assessments. When you read the other reviews on those who chose the distance option, you will see that the majority of them say something along the lines of 'I was overwhelmed when I saw what was involved in the assessments, and so upgraded to the in-person/virtual option'. There's a reason for this. The distance assessment criteria is really difficult, as well as not very clear. For example, for the Gym Instructor qualification, you have to film in a commercial gym, with a group of people - so that's you, a cameraperson, plus multiple 'clients' to induct. This is just one of the multiple assessments and any failed assessment results in a steep fee, so it's likely to get expensive fast. Unfortunately, the inaccessibility of the distance assessments meant that I had to forfeit the course and lose the entirety of the money spent. One last point is, that during my course, I experienced some distressing health complications and investigations that took me away from my studies. I was denied any concession on the course extension fees, which is very expensive - around £300 per month. While I don't doubt that the course material is good, and the trainers seem great, I do feel that the business model for the distance option is built around getting you to upgrade, or continually spend more, whether it's through upselling to the in-person training or assessments, through failing complicated assessments or through extending the course dates. I'm sure some people have had a great experience with TrainFitness, but I, sadly, left with a bad taste in my mouth. I would loved to have received more compassion in extending my course, and the system of distance learning needs to be improved.
I highly recommend these providers. I went with them to complete my Level 4 advanced PT qualification and the education and support I received went above and beyond expectation. The tutors were a lot of fun and made the content accessible and easy to learn. The support centre are quick to respond and very personable which I feel is pretty rare in this industry! Course content is very thorough, learning portal is easy to use and I feel well set up to enter the industry! Couldn’t recommend enough, will return to complete further qualifications in the future.
*Edit*I have an email from a Jay George saying he would be my "point of contact" at any time, he was the one who sold me the contract but if he isnt a tutor then i was mislead to what i was being sold? I still have his email. Your answer is nothing that I did not expect. Your answer has only further proved my opinion of the course and company is correct. I was told at time of signing up I would have a personal tutor (Jay) for any queries or help as I was doing the course remotely, also that I'd have to do a "couple of videos" well! in over 4 months in I've not had any personal guidance on the course and so far I have 10 videos to do though I've seen in a previous review, train fitness deny this. Bearing in mind I'm just your average person with a gym membership, I don't have proper access to a proper environment in which to film myself doing consultations, fitness programmes and group induction/classes. I feel the actual course material is confusing and very contradictory and the sections don't flow, they jump from one subject to another and back. I've stressed myself out over this and it's actually made me feel ill. The material in this is difficult and with no guidance I'm finding it confusing and very stressful. When you phone you just get passed on to random people, most who aren't helpful or particularly friendly. One guy Ben was OK but only because he could tell how stressed I was over the whole thing. The attitude of some of the others I've spoken to have put me off even contacting the company. One of the exam questions is "whats the best way to contact train fitness?" The answer being 'by telephone' yet when I telephoned to say I was struggling I was asked why I had only written one email/mesage to them. I feel they probably get lots of complaints but have standard answers to them rather than acknowledge that the course is not particularly great, especially for remote learners. I'd advise anyone to find another course as I don't think this one is the best out there, in person is probably quicker, easier and more enjoyable. I wish I'd sifted through the really great reviews and found the ones where people like me are struggling, especially doing the course remotely. I wish I'd done my homework before signing up. I gave up my job to concentrate on the course but feel I've wasted my hard earned money and time. I have a degree with distinction in mental health nursing and have studied over the years with the open University and night school at college and I'm finding this impossible to complete and stressful with both content and the amount of work involved. I didn't expect the course to be easy but without input from those who are meant to be teaching it I don't see how it's possible to learn how to be a great PT from an online manual. I've been wanting to train as a PT for over 20 years and this course has destroyed any confidence I had about being one. The course work teaches about being motivational, inspiring and a role model but unfortunately train fitness don't appear to practice what they preach to their distance learners.
