I bought the afternoon tea as a gift for a family member. Unfortunately they had a poor experience, stale bread, a long wait for the food to come and rude staff.
They were totally underwhelmed after they had been looking forward to the event for a while. It was a total waste of money.
Don’t waste your time or money going here it really isn’t worth it
⭐ 1 star – Significant decline in standards and customer service. I have visited the establishment several times before and always had a pleasant experience, making this visit particularly disappointing. This stay was meant to celebrate two special occasions – my mother’s 80th birthday and my daughter’s 28th. Unfortunately, it did not meet acceptable standards. The room was outdated and in dire need of maintenance, featuring worn carpets and old décor. The birthday package (£45) was extremely poor value – it included a bottle of prosecco, two glasses for three people, and a box of chocolates that were expired and had to be discarded. The spa experience was also lacking: there was a lengthy wait to check in with no apology, disheveled changing rooms, and a jacuzzi that was out of service, with the control button missing. I have given the venue three chances to address my complaint. After an initial response, all subsequent communication has been ignored, which is unacceptable and reflects very poor customer service. I will definitely not be returning, which is unfortunate since I have enjoyed my previous visits. However, the standards have clearly deteriorated, and customer service is now severely lacking. Until these issues are properly resolved, I would strongly recommend others to steer clear of this venue, especially for celebrations or special occasions.
I booked a spa day for two with an upgrade for December 30, but had to reschedule to January 2 due to a family illness. I was charged an extra £20 for a lesser package. This reflects very poor customer service and a lack of flexibility. I wouldn’t recommend this.
It’s unfortunate because the hotel and spa are located in a beautiful area with stunning views. While the treatment was lovely, the spa itself was dirty and in disrepair, featuring mold and broken tiles. I observed one staff member vaping on her phone while lying on towels and robes in the storage area. Our hotel room was unclean, stained, and had two beds pushed together creating an uncomfortable gap. The restaurant staff were friendly, but we ended up without drinks for our meal as they forgot three times. A full meal with no drinks is unacceptable! Overall, this place is a disaster!

The hotel and restaurant staff were lovely, and the food was nice. However, the hotel was dirty, and the spa facilities were unclean, with a broken pool and jacuzzi. Complaints to management went unanswered. I also developed an eye infection, presumably from the pillow.
A cold, underwhelming, and expensive spa day. The entire facility was too chilly to relax and enjoy. While the sandwiches for lunch were nice, they took an excessive amount of time to be served. Overall, it was an overpriced and underwhelming experience.
I booked a stay for a special occasion, only to discover upon arrival that the hotel required an additional £120 spa fee (£60 each for a few hours, plus another £50 for morning use), which was never disclosed at booking. When I raised this, the manager admitted these charges are only shown post-booking, which is misleading. The room was uninhabitable due to damp walls, making it unsafe for me due to allergies and hidden disabilities. When I voiced my concerns, the manager was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. The situation left my friend and me in tears, having traveled a long way and wasted our holiday. We ended up with only a refund after a long battle with customer support. I strongly urge others to avoid this hotel, especially given the numerous negative reviews reflecting similar experiences.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place is a definite NO! After sending my wife and her friend for a day trip, I discovered that staff had stolen their jewelry during a massage. When confronted, we were told it was agency staff and were dismissed. This is not a professional way to handle such issues, and the staff were rude and unhelpful. Overall, a horrible experience that I cannot recommend. Avoid this place to save yourself from theft and disappointment from unhelpful staff.
