What a great vacation we had! Emilie Witham at Costa Rican Vacations planned it. We traveled with my sister and brother in law who had some special requests. Emilie figured out how to answer those requests by being creative with the itineraries she suggested. From the minute we arrived at the airport, we were “taken care of” by Costa Rican Vacations. A representative met us inside the airport and walked us thru customs and thru the crowds of people to a shuttle bus to take us to our hotel. The next morning a friendly, safe driver picked us up and took us to our wonderful hotel in the Cloud Forest. From there we continued a well planned vacation staying at great hotels, being picked up on time to go on our tours or to our next place on the itinerary. Everything was great with no problems in two weeks!I highly recommend Costa Rican Vacations and especially Emilie Witham.
The best vacation ever!! Everything was so easy because it was all set up by the experts @costaricanvacations. They had someone greet us when we got off the plane, and he helped us get our baggage and then led us to our transfer (van) to our first destination. The resort (Arenal Springs) was outstanding in every way. No complaints at all. The transfer to Tulemar Resort in Quepos went smoothly, and that resort was equal to if not better to the first! The people and concierge were extremely helpful and set up all kinds of activities; zip lining, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, even a ride in a gyrocopter! The transfer back to the airport went smoothly, too. We are definitely going to return to Costa Rica, and will use Costa Rican Vacations again!!
Dyonne Burgers of Costa Rica Vacations did an outstanding job organizing, customizing, and ensuring that all of our plans came to life on our trip. She was extremely responsive and easy to work with. I would definitely feel fully confident in planning another trip through her. We stayed in beautiful lodgings and the private transportation drivers were punctual, courteous, friendly and engaging. Our itinerary was fully detailed on their portal, and all payments were easily paid through it. There were some hiccups, however, related to the CRV Travel Experience team that handled the tours inside Costa Rica. I requested a tour of the Venado Caves for 1 person with an afternoon time slot. They reserved a 7:00 am time slot for 3 people instead, which I noticed when I went to pay the charges. They said there was no availability for the afternoon time slot. When I told them the reservation was only for 1 person, they corrected the charges and said there was an afternoon time slot available. However, when I arrived at the caves, I was assigned to a group whose guide was Spanish speaking only. He and I both knew a few words of each others' languages, but not nearly enough for me to understand him nor ask questions. I still enjoyed the tour overall, but it was quite diminished due to the language issue. Also, the description of the tour said to bring your camera, but I was told to leave it in the car when I arrived at the caves, so I did not get the pictures I wanted. The tour guide took (and shared) many good pictures, but they were not necessarily the ones that I wanted. To CRV's credit, however, when I took them up on their 100% satisfaction guarantee, they provided a full refund for the tour. The fact that they did this gave me the confidence to book additional excursions through CRV rather than with many other (often cheaper) options available.There was one other mixup related to my pickup time for my flight home. The itinerary showed 2:00 am pickup for a 3:43 pm flight (which made no sense but I hadn't noticed until two days before). That was corrected when I contacted them, but if I hadn't caught it until later, I'm not sure what would have happened. So overall, I would give CRV 5 stars for the trip planning and setup, 3 stars for the on-the-ground Travel Experience team, and 5 stars for honoring the 100% satisfaction guarantee. All things considered, I would definitely use CRV again for a future trip.

The transportation was always prompt to pick us up and get us safely back to our hotel and were so kind to answer our many questions about their country. All the tours were great with us doing lots of different adventures and having guides so excited and passionate about what ever they were sharing with you. Also giving you free time to explore a very kind, hospitable, hard working country and it’s people.
