I am a 70 year old male and I never had a personal trainer in the past. I started working with Val in mid January after finding him on the internet. He has exceeded my expectations as a personal trainer. After about 8 weeks of training I feel more fit, stronger and healthier. I really enjoy my training sessions and highly recommend Val.
When I started working with Val, my goal was to lose 30 pounds, and I’ve successfully reached that milestone. This was a surprise, as I had tried various diets and gym classes with limited success. What surprises me even more is how much I enjoy lifting weights and how much our sessions have improved my overall well-being. Becoming stronger and achieving things I once thought impossible has been incredibly empowering. I can now do push-ups and have even achieved my very first pull-up!
Val is the best. I have hypermobility in my joints that have caused me a lot of issues with chronic joint dislocations over the years accompanied by lots of pain and inability to do basic things like walking without having my knee come out of place. I previously saw a physical therapist looking to strengthen those joints, but ended up with someone who didn't listen to me or my needs and would push me until the point of injury. After giving up on that route, I met Val, and he worked with me to create a plan that was safe but effective for my hyper mobility issues. Since starting his program, I have seen a huge difference in my daily comfort. I have not had a single dislocation since beginning his routine. The pain in my joints is virtually non-existent, I've become stronger and more confident in the gym. My joints click less, and my posture is better. Val is an amazing motivator as well. He builds you up and recognizes your progress. He listens to you and makes you feel so comfortable. He is the most warm, welcoming, and friendly person. He goes above and beyond for his clients and creates an amazing support and friend group between all of them. I am so grateful to him for the way he has changed my life and made me a stronger person. I look forward to being able to do more physical activities that I used to enjoy, like hiking and climbing again in time as I keep improving under Val's guidance.

I believe I was one of Val’s first clients. As a 50 year old woman, there are beautiful things about growing older, it truly is a gift; yet there’s a down side too—when I first met Val, I had gained 15 lbs, on thyroid medication, I was suffering from depression and lack of motivation, I actually didn’t really want a trainer but I needed one. I can not express the sincere gratitude that I have towards Val and how each time we met that he went above and beyond, to help me push through my depression, feel my physical strength again (actually I’ve gained more muscle and strength than I had in my 30’s). Through consistency, excellent coaching, patience, diet and exercise—(and laughter too)—I’m now full of confidence, I stand taller, stronger down to my bones! Val introduced me to different strength training techniques as well as diet tips, which isn’t so much a diet but rather a slight lifestyle change around food that helped balance my hormones, I was able to get off my thyroid medication and I have to brag a bit and say, I look and feel better than some half my age!!! It’s never too late and having worked with other trainers, I’ll say this:—this isn’t just a job to Val, he really truly cares, he gets so excited knowing the end result from day one!! His diverse knowledge of personal training, rehabilitation of injury, military background, compassion, individual precise workouts designed just for you, all make him an indispensable and trusted part of continued healing, growth both physically and mentally. I highly recommend him to anyone ready for a change, with a top coach at your side, guiding you each step of the way!! Just do it!!! I had the best time training with Val. It was my first experience of a personal trainer and any type of weight lifting. My goals were to be more active, healthy, improved my mental health, be able to do a push up, and reduce my BMI so I qualified for fertility treatment on the NHS. We worked hard at all these goals, and I actually became pregnant naturally just as my BMI became the required amount for treatment which was a direct result of my training with Val. I stopped training with Val once I had my son and then Val moved. But I’d absolutely had started again with him if he was still here. He’s so personal and non judgemental. I think as a women sometimes it can feel a little intimidating having a male personal trainer- but I never got that energy from Val and felt comfortable and enjoyed every session. He was the perfect balance of relaxed but yet still pushed me to work harder than I would ever have done on my own and helped me see what I was really capable of. My mental health massively improved whist training with Val, as well as obviously massively improving my fitness and general physical health. He was very knowledgeable with how best to handle my existing injuries, and also whist we trained through my pregnancy. I’d recommend Val to anyone!
