I purchased a premier coverage warranty with my 2019 Kia Optima when I purchased it used in 2022. Recently, I had an issue with the engine that would require extensive repair.
My troubles began when it first took Allstate nearly a week to send an adjuster to look at the vehicle and over a week more to determine coverage. And while they ultimately did decide to cover the repair, they refused to cover 4.5 hours of additional diagnostic time *that they specifically required the mechanic to perform in order to determine coverage.* On top of this, they also refused to cover the suspension adjustment that was all but required to get the car back into good order. Despite repeated back and forth with multiple representatives at Allstate and their contract agreement clearly stating they would cover *reasonable* diagnostic time, they refused to budge on their frankly baffling decision.
With what I paid for the warranty and what they were not willing to cover in this repair, it barely made the warranty worth it. I have no intention of signing up for one of their vehicle warranties again.
You pay all this money to them to help with cost of repairs. When an expensive repair happens ( which is beyond your control) they do not want to cover it or help pay for any of it. It is not with your money or time to purchasea plan from them. For all the women out there DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR PLAN!!!
Only 7 days rental coverage for a vehicle issue covered under the warranty? Ridiculous....the dealer is doing their best to fix the issue. They replaced the part and the part is faulty. Had to order another part. Not my fault. And I can't even get the rental car extended for 1 more day. Will never buy a warranty from Allstate ever again !
Terrible service from this company. I sold my car private sale and paid Allstate to transfer the warranty to the new owner. Months ago I filled out the correct form and mailed them a check for $50 for the transfer fee; they cashed the check right away and neither me or the buyer of my car ever heard another peep from them. I've contacted through email multiple times and no response, the chat feature never works on their website. I've tried calling but the menu is setup in a way so that you can never actually speak to a live person. It's been 3 months and the warranty is still not transferred to the buyer! I need the warranty transferred immediately or give me a refund. What an awful experience, Allstate vehicle protection plans are the worst!
The epitome of slimy car warranty companies looking to deny valid claims for any excuse even if not related to the breakdown. They do not stand behind their warranty and let dealerships sell plans that they will not honor. They do not notify you of any claims decisions and you must call into the office waiting 50 minutes to one hour being transferred to different areas. Hard to believe that a big name company like Allstate would be involved in such a scam. 100% bad faith.
There is something fishy about a company that won't send your claim check to your mailing address and won't send it certified mail also wouldn't direct deposit. They insistedon sending it tonour residence.. it has been more than enough days to receive it and I feel like they lied about even mailing it.. I don't understand how a company with a historic name and reputation can become such an incompetent or maybe worse business.. I don't even know who to contact at this point
Not willing to work with you. Had to get work done, parts were covered, but labor was not. They would only cover 2 hours of a 12 hour repair job and would not work at all with me or the dealership to come to some sort of agreement. I spent a lot of money on this warranty and way more money than I wanted to when I actually needed to use it. 2 stars, because they did cover the part, but that was a minor cost over the actual labor costs.
I am a service advisor for a dealer in NV. I must say every time I have had to work with Allstate the service is amazing. Most recently I had the pleasure of working with Chanthon to adjust a claim. Super professional and awesome to work with. I appreciate the customer service!
