Review Time
I have had multiple unacceptable experiences with Very.co.uk, and I feel compelled to warn others. Almost every item I ordered arrived faulty, used, or packaged in a way that raised serious concerns about hygiene and authenticity.
Henry Hoover: The on/off switch was sparking. I called Very 4 times with some customer service agents struggled to communicate clearly. Without informing me, they sent a second hoover and charged me for it. When I called to ask how to return the original one, I was told that if I had used the second hoover, I wouldn’t be able to return it. I had to arrange collection, pay for it upfront, and wait for a refund — all while the original issue remained unresolved.
Kettle and Toaster Set: Arrived damaged and unsealed.
Braun Epilator: The box looked used, was unsealed, and the epilator itself had hair in it. Customer service simply told me to return it.
Anti-Allergy Duvets (x2): Delivered in thin, see‑through, unsealed polythene bags with a bit of Sellotape on top. Someone had handwritten the tog rating in black marker on the bag and crossed out other wording. No branding, no proper packaging, nothing that suggested a new product or that it was anti‑allergy.
Across all of this, there was no apology, no ownership, and no attempt to make things right. I have wasted hours researching products, collecting items, calling customer service, arranging collections, and chasing refunds. This is genuinely the worst company I have ever dealt with. (I have recorded the calls and have pictures of everything they have sent)
I’m new to very and so very happy with both products I ordered and also the very speedy delivery. Very Pay was a very convenient way in which to pay for my items and the BNPY option suited my needs perfectly and application on the app made it so very easy. I am delighted with the range of products and offers very has to give to me as a customer.
I ordered a bed and mattress from Very, with delivery scheduled for three weeks later. While the mattress arrived on time, the bed was delivered a full week late, one month after placing the order, with no explanation, apology, or any communication about the delay. I have to say, this has been my worst experience with an online vendor so far. The excessively long delivery times and frequent delays seem to be a common issue among many people I know who have ordered from them, which I had previously dismissed as occasional mishaps, until now.

Ordered a cooker. First delivery I wasn't given chance to get down over the stairs before the delivery had gone I was dealing with my autistic daughter. A card had been left oh but no card. Second attempt didn't arrive I had to ring to find out where it was. Basically they couldnt be bothered to deliver it as was to far away from the depot. Then wait another two days. A whole week for a COOKER to arrive to feed my family. Usually not impressed at all. No phone call. No apology and u paid out right for it!!
Absolutely disgusted, i ordered a laptop and paid for next day delivery, it didnt come and got delayed, i got my money back for the next day delivery fee but then i cancelled the order and spoke to a lady from hr but she couldnt get the order camcelled for what ever reason most probsbly couldnt be bothered so now i have to waste my time in sending it back cos i went and got the same laptop from argos and saved £30 in the price aswell
Reordered a microwave as the previous one went faulty within the first year. New microwave came quickly with no issues but finding it impossible to have the faulty one collected and refunded! Having to call customer service daily and spend 30 mins on the phone, not ideal
I saw something i wanted to buy.. the repayment methods were exactly what i was looking for.. it was very easy to open an account and buy the item.. it was delivered really quickly. .. very happy with my purchase and will definitely be using Very again
Tried to buy a PS5 Pro through their Credit Line for the 20% discount - offer applied in the basket against the item showing discount applied so I placed the order.
Order shows up in the account for the normal price, pre-discount - strange. Ring Very through their automated system to get through to an outsourced call centre to tell me the item is on the exclusions list hence the order not showing the correct price.
Their website doesn't actually seem to block items if they're not on the exclusion list, like every other website.
So be careful - you can checkout at one price and be charged another! Seems like an intentional design flaw in the website to catch people.....
Sent me the wrong size called to complain and was not even noted as a complaint, why do very not check the garment label and package label and quality check items before sending it out, really frustrating customer service no resolve from customer service but just advised to send it back so inconvenience caused now the size is not available. This company need to make changes to improve.
Easy to navigate website, with lots of choice available and clear pricing.
The checkout process was easy.
I was kept informed on delivery dates/times etc and my parcel was with me within 48 hours.
The bag is gorgeous! Nice and roomy and perfect for the gym and swimming etc.
Would also make a great beach bag.
