I receive a gift card yearly, as I used to enjoy dining here. However, during my latest visit, I tried to use it, but the waiter took it away, stating it couldn't be processed in my presence. I was later told only £20 remained on the card, which was surprising since I hadn't visited before. There was no clear communication about any terms that could lead to a reduction in value. This lack of transparency about gift card balances is concerning, and I advise others to keep their gift card receipts and ensure all payments are processed in view.
They do not take allergies seriously! I ordered through a delivery platform and immediately called to request modifications for my daughter's meal (as per the app instructions), but they refused. When I attempted to cancel the order due to it being inedible, they sent it anyway. It's disgraceful and a waste of money. I tried calling multiple times, but they are now unresponsive.
My sister and I traveled 100 miles to celebrate our Mum's retirement at a local restaurant. The hostility and aggression from the two managers were shocking. Staff amused themselves by slamming cutlery, and they openly discussed us where we could hear. Our meals were carelessly placed on the table. When I requested to speak with the manager, she implied we were lying by saying she needed to hear from the staff first. If there are cameras, please review them. This ruined a special day for us.
The quality of ingredients has been deteriorating for years, and it's now at an all-time low. It's evident that the meat comes from chickens that have never seen daylight. The texture is akin to jelly. Even the beef had a noticeably inferior quality, with more nerves present. Increasing prices while cutting costs rarely leads to positive outcomes for restaurant chains.
We have frequented a local branch since it opened a year ago. We've consistently redeemed a free side with returned bowls during our visits. However, on my son's 6th birthday, we were suddenly informed that the voucher couldn't be used on the same visit. This feels deceptive. The junior manager displayed a lack of management skills, and the service was disappointing. Serious training is necessary, and terms of offers should be clear from the start.
My family visited a location after shopping, expecting a nice meal since we often dine at other branches. The entrance area was cramped, and we were asked to wait outside in the cold. After another couple was seated, we returned inside, only to be asked to step outside again, despite not blocking anything. I felt singled out while the restaurant had empty tables. When I spoke to the manager, he could only offer to seat us after the fact. The whole experience left us confused and disappointed.
The food was acceptable but seemed like just a mix of warmed vegetables. The initial service was good, but upon reflection, it felt overly pushy as we were encouraged to order items we didn't want. I could have dined elsewhere for less money without the discomfort of sitting next to noisy strangers. I won't return anytime soon, as we felt disregarded after the initial service.
