I ordered a very large wardrobe and two bedside chests drawers and paid for the assembly of the wardrobe. They were delivered and put in my conservatory. I later realised only one bedside unit was delivered. No big drama these things happen. I emailed and asked for the undelivered item to be sent ,which it was. one star for that. When delivered a few of the boxes were poorly packed and already opening. The furniture sat in the conservatory for just over 2 weeks before getting a slot for assembly. (which I had to chase). again no big deal. My main issue happened on the day of assembly. I paid 250£ for an "assembly team". It transpires that wardrobes direct outsource the assembly work for certain areas. I happen to live in one of those areas. The company they outsourced to then outsourced again to a local builders website. On the assembly day one man arrived. He was a local handyman and was expecting a two hour job. he also revealed to me what he was paid and it was not 250£!. I realised that it wouldn't be possible for him to build a wardrobe this size safely and I had to help him at certain points where two people were needed. To be fair to him he worked very hard and was in the house for almost 9 hoursI felt this was not acceptable having paid for assembly service I expected enough people to do the job safely and timely. when I complained and suggested a refund of the cost of assembly service would be appropriate wardrobe direct advised me they accepted it was a 2 person job but do not guarantee the number of fitters. Bit weird and paradoxical that. Also they do not guarantee the time it will take. also weird as the instructions state 2 hours approx for two people. they suggested I could have stopped at any time and wasn't obliged to help the chap and so used my common decency and fear for the workman's safety against me. low blow that wardrobe direct. The wardrobe is OK and the quality is nothing special in my opinion. I also found the communication/reply to emails to be sporadic and there is no phone number you can contact them on. My advise, if you plan to buy through this company and your purchase depends on the assembly service, (as mine did) would be to double check with them who will be assembling it. local handyman or professional fitters as there website states. also confirm the number of "professional fitters" you can expect for the furniture you are interested in. I would ask for this in writing as if you are unfortunate enough to have my experience they will deflect all blame to the company they outsourced to and to you the customer if you feel you have to help. I paid the fee for assembly to them so as far as I concerned they are responsible. If their response doesn't match your expectations look elsewhere.I accept things don't always go perfectly but I judge companies and services on how they respond to legitimate complaints. wardrobe direct have fallen very short on customer aftercare in my experience.
I brought a wardrobe from Wardrobe Direct back in July, when it was delivered it had been damaged in transit so fair enough so was offered replacement (min 2 to 3 weeks for replacement!) I declined replacement and asked to return & have a refund, simple enough you would think.I finally got a refund this week so 8/10/24 & that was me having to contact them weekly for 2 month! Customer service & after care is a joke!!!!!!

It's worth knowing as other reviews have said; wardrobe direct take these reviews REALLY seriously. They also tried to call me the day I posted this review then they complained about this review, Trustpilot saw fit to post it. Thank you TP. THEN they just asked for more information from me, it's weeks later, through Trustpilot. They clearly spend a lot of time attempting to look good. Their ways in this world - needs avoiding. I just wanted a wardrobe. My review stands as it was: Terrible customer service. After writing clearly that I could not accept a ground floor delivery - it took 13 emails back and forth to gain reassurance my wardrobe would be delivered to my basement door. They then called at 1pm on delivery day (a Saturday) stating they "do not have delivery drivers every Saturday" no apology and quite a rude attitude frankly, towards majorly inconveniencing me. They'd had a week to sort this date out. They then LIED. Stating that I had been called on the Friday - there was not one communication on that Friday. Do they forget that EVERYTHING is recorded. After requesting a delivery next Tuesday, it took another 6 emails back and forth -they seem not to read the clearly concisely written emails requesting next Tuesday. Very strange and frustrating - CANCELLED my order. They are unprofessional time wasters. It's like the unnamed sales team is a 10 year old.AVOID is my advice.
