Review Time
Took my Omega Seamsater 300 Pro for its first service based upon the reviews of Watch Doctor. After collecting the watch I noticed that there was a distinct strip on the side of the case and a block. This looked like bizarre polishing and was not blended in. Upon closer inspection I observed the following:- The polished parts that meet the grain parts on the case were now more of a grainy finish- The clasp was over polished so that in certain light the " OMEGA" engraving looks blurred.I called Watch Doctor who said to come along, I showed them ( or tried to) they said they couldn't see what I meant and did not show care or interest.I left very disappointed after the one hour round trip journey.I went to another watch polisher who told me that the cause of the " stripe" effect was the fact that the helium valve was not removed prior to the polish. Also that all round it was a poor job due to to lack of finishing and ensuring the polish parts of the watch remained polished. At a cost of £96 to myself, I got the case refinished and will never ever use Watch Drs again. I am still working out what to do reL the clasp.
Watch Doctors have just completed a dial restoration and a case polish on my Rolex Oysterdate and the results are fantastic. The dial is like new and the case has been beautifully polished. WatchDoctors are a very professional company and keep you informed of the progress on the work carried out. Their billing system is also very clear and their Customer Service - thank you Divia - is wonderful.
Thank you for bringing my mother’s watch back to life, the care and attention shown was very much appreciated, to have the watch working again means a great deal to me and I will definitely be back to you with my other watches.
To reply to your reply I would say that these capacitors are in effect a battery which on all of this type of Seiko Kinetic watch eventually runs out. This is the reason they typically need replacing and not because of other faults. You definatly told me that the capacitor itself cost £115. I only asked for the capacitor to be changed, a full service was never mentioned by anyone. The job was not cost effective at that price and I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth when I found that the capacitor could be sourced for a whole £100 cheaper.
I took my Seiko Kinetic watch for a quote to replace the capacitor, they told me the part would cost £115 and the job would be £150 inc labour. I found the part online for £14.50 and fixed the watch myself. I Would not recomend, my experience was that these people are not entirely honest.
My 14 years old, recently serviced, Breitling Colt Chrono stopped working. It needed sending away and a further £500 "service" by Breitling, according to a high street jewellery retailer. Basically gave up on this watch which was becoming too expensive to own, but asked David Herring from the Watch Doctors for a 2nd opinion. Left the stoor 15 minutes and £35 later a very happy customer with a fully working Breitling on my arm! Highly recommend Watch Doctors for true professionalism and exceptional service.
Received my Omega Seamaster back today, just 14 days after I first contacted you. Watch is looking brand new and working just fine after the service. I'm very happy and will most definitely be using you for all future work. Thanks again.
