I have found WeWork a refreshing experience for our Company where we are using it as a Drop in / Point of Presence across its network. In fact after 6 months of use I cannot fault it. Specific things that I have found - starkly contrasting with another casual office service provider ......... include:Ease of booking. The app works faultlessly and the link to the Black Access Card takes only about 10 minutes - despite they way give it 30 minutes. This means that last minute bookings can be made.Security Access. There is a new security protocol of using your Black Card to access the floor work area but the one I was originally concerned about was after hours access as I do use this early in the morning. Have never had a problem and security access to buildings and WeWork Floors has never failed to date (touch wood).Power Boards & power sockets. Different sites seem to have a different setup. Some have powerboards loosely across the top of desks, others with the powerboards below the desks. Everything works and I just carry a double adapter in case its a below desk setup - makes it easier to connect.Cleanliness of facilities. At one Sydney site I use the place is generally spotless (including bathrooms) and there is a staff member always cleaning at 730am when I generally start work.Free Coffee / Barista. Some sites do have a barista and gee its nice to have the hassle taken out of the morning coffee ritual.Water. Another little thing of cold water taps on site and metal glasses which keeps the water cold. Important to respect others and put used glasses away in the black bins - but again all seems to work.WiFi Network. Flawless and fast. Again the experience with other service providers in this area has been poor.Invoicing. Clear and concise. No issues of wrong charges, unexplained charges, etc again that have been experienced with an alternate supplier - and those problems with that supplier continue today despite their rhetoric of 'investigating and correcting'. I find it to be excellent value for money in addition to the convenience and professional setup.Community. There always seems to be some form of casual community gathering - usually around some form of snacks / food that the Centre puts on. People do engage and its very positive. Its not all 100% positive but the challenges are fellow members and not the Centre/WeWork itself. You will find that there are 'quiet pod hogs' who don't really honour the 30 minute rule and you have to knock on the door eventually (in particular if you have a booking) and you can be unlucky and find yourself in a room with a loud talker / talkers who can ruin your train of thought or workflow. There are different 'quiet rooms' however and when you get to a centre if you like total peace and quiet (like I do) then just ask the centre staff and depending on your level of membership (I have the highest one) there are plenty of options. But other than that I cannot speak more highly of the experiences I have had in Sydney - centres of 161 Castlereagh Street and 5 Martin Place being the main ones I use but I have also used sites in Melbourne, Perth and Pitt Street (Sydney) thus far. Quality of experience has been totally consistent at each (very positive).I am sure there are others that have had bad experiences (as our company continues to have with another casual office supplier) but so far WeWork has worked well for us.
Most objectively the worst office spaces ever. Over the past 12 months, they shut down 2 of the 3 office spaces I had access to, then they closed one of the floors on the remaining one, and then they closed off half remaining floor. People are packed in phones booths and hallways. They increased membership fees without notice. Their offshore support team is currently ignoring all requests, and they are so understaffed that you find dirty mugs and glasses in the sink and bins full of trash when you come in the morning. On top of that, they removed every way to cancel memberships or remove payment methods from their website. Members who cancelled their memberships are still being charged and those who disputed the charges are being threatened with collections.
I had a great experience with them. Their facilities are comfortable, well-equipped, the wifi connection works really well, the coffee is delicious, etc. I once had a minor issue, but it got easily resolved through their customer service. Well done, wework and keep up the good job!
They're scammers and they make it impossible to cancel your membership. You have to call them or email and it takes forever. Shitty ass coworking space that is overpriced and they just try to rinse your money because they're broke. I do NOT recommend this place please avoid at all costs
