The company produced my book then offered To distribute for a fee to be reimbursed plus sales proceeds. By the terms of the contract I was to get payment Jan 6/26. Have not received my money 35,000, and the manager will not return my calls.

I sent in my novel to them based on their reviews on Trustpilot and a couple of others. I was very pleased with the editors especially the senior editor and the printing of my book. After the initial printing I looked for some additional ways to market my book with them including a screenplay. Again, I got to work with their senior editor who very good. However, the project manager's handling of the screen play and additional marketing ventures that I encountered a bit of a sticky wicket. Once I paid them for, I couldn't get them to complete what I had already paid for. However, after working with management, I was able to get my issues resolved.
I want to thank Trustpilot for the opportunity to reply to Writer’s Publishing Lab (WPL) message. I am also glad WPL is interested in hearing what I have to say; I presume they are open to learning from this unfortunate experience. In the following paragraphs, space permitted, I will respond to each point raised in the message sent by WPL:WPL: “…we…are unable to find any record of your interaction with our services…Our records indicate that J Medina is not registered as a client within our system.” Me: I find it interesting that WPL was “unable to find any record” of my name, considering the many emails and hours I spent on the phone speaking with your many associates: William Parker, Brian Otis, Ben Martin, Lucas Dawson, Frank Williams, and Edward “Jomes” (not sure it is the correct spelling). I also have records of the email exchanges with some of these individuals, and I understand you record the phone conversations with clients. In addition, I have a copy of a Service Agreement signed by Lucas Dawson. You will find my name in your records if you try harder. WPL: “…the specifics mentioned in your review do not align with our established processes or client experiences.”Me: I did not provide any specifics in my review. I did say WPL was “the worst service company I had dealt with…” And I stand by it. The editing of my book manuscript was incredibly sloppy and unprofessional. Per the contract and despite many exhortations, they never got around to performing the “cultural/development editing.” When I showed my dissatisfaction with the service and asked for a refund, they did everything possible not to return my money, including not answering my phone calls.WPL: “…we [are]…committed to providing high-quality publishing solutions and maintaining transparent client relationships.”Me: I do not doubt WPL may strive to provide “high-quality” service; unfortunately, such a service did not happen to me.
Working with Writers Publishing Lab was a wonderful experience. Allen Maxwell provided excellent guidance and support, ensuring that my book was perfect from start to finish. The professionalism and quality of work were top quality. I highly recommend them.
I worked with Ethan White on my last book, and he was more amazing than I can ever express. He displayed patience and kindness to the max, and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful from the moment we met until the book went on the market. I have already asked him to work with me on my next project, and I've told all of my author friends about him.
Buyer be ware. I entered into a contract with Writers Publishing Lab when I first started out as a writer. They were supposed to create my author accounts, handle copywriting, ISBNs, and illustrate my children's book among a list of other things they listed in their money back guarantee contract. They did none of these things! I have been asking for a refund for 6 months and they refuse even though they said in writing multiple times not to worry, that I could cancel anytime. Well that is not true. It is also not true that they will provide the services they promise. Be very warry of this company. They talk a good game and don't deliver.
It was fun to work with Frank Williams and his team over the last few weeks to get my book published. He is a reliable worker who is quick to respond and very skilled. The design for the book came through lightning fast and looked great. Writers Publishing Lab, good Luck! We look forward to continuing to work with you.
