My pet chicken got peritonitis in may I…

My pet chicken got peritonitis in may I took him to bingley branch she wasn’t in pain or anything so he told me to bring her back once she stopped eating. £60+pound that was . As time went on I phoned the vets to bring her in as she started go down hill I asked for a price without a consultation he said £85 I said I didn’t need a consultation as the vet said just bring her back to put her to sleep the receptionist said hang on I’ll find out the price without a consultation he came back with a price of £55 so I made the appointment at Bingley when I went to pay they said £85 ? I explained to her that I was given a price of £55 and she checked and said well sorry but it’s £85 she said they must have told you the wrong price?? So I had to pay this amount. This is not acceptable as the price I was given was accepted this is soo wrong wasn’t happy bad enough loosing a pet then given this . So I will not be going to the vets again with other pets .

I’m very disappointed with gate house…

I’m very disappointed with gate house vets to be fair! Last Christmas I wanted to take my dog with me to Ireland so I phoned gate house vets and asked what I would need, I was only told about the animal health certificate, as my dog has been there since she was a puppy so they know my dog, anyway in December I phone to check all was ok (not knowing about the rabis jab because I wasn’t told) anyway I phoned them and I was told then about the rabis jab, I wasn’t told about it before, it’s to be given 21days before the AHC can be issued! I wasn’t told in tears because I couldnt take my dog away at Christmas, thankfully my daughter had her for Christmas. but because the reception staff didn’t inform me correctly about the time scale of the AHC and rabis jab my Christmas was spoilt big time, so this year my gut instinct is flagging up red flags because this Christmas my dog will be travelling away with us come he’ll or high water, so I took the decision to move vets, I’ve read reviews on other vets…. I’m 100% not happy with gatehouse vets, the reception staff are not friendly it’s as it you are an inconvenience to them, especially one certain female no names! Anyway I have had other issues over the last 4 years and I could go on but personally I’ve changed vets because that was the third issue I’ve had with them … I’ve checked reviews lately and I’m shocked with the results I’ve read and wish I had never used them for my dog… I only used them because they were recommended to me, after I moved to the area …

Don’t know why I gave it a 1 🌟really.so, had my cat in there for treatment! The first week with treatment it dint solve anything so when back. And they take bloods to see if it was thyroid’s { bearing in mind my 17yr old cat could see and hear } left her there for some hours then had a call to go back to pick her up! Charged me an unearthly amount of money, got her home cuddling her then she when to go get a drink and walked into the coffee table wow never seen her do that before so I thought it was the some sort of anaesthetic to get blood from her by the looks 1 from her neck and 1 from her leg… though she’d come round in a few hours,I checked her again and guess what !!!!! She’s come home BLIND cant see and her hearing deaf..I went back to complain with the cat they put it down to old age,,,NOTHING TO DO EITHER HER AGE!! They have caused this with the treatment they gave her not administering the correct procedures. You don’t walk into a vets sighted and come out blind!! Still never put my cat right for what she originally when in for,, poor girl her life wasn’t the same going to that vets gatehouse veterany in Allerton ..yes I had to put her out of pain and put her to rest.. Shocking place that group..

Absolutely awful extremely poor don’t…

Absolutely awful extremely poor don’t recommend Haworth vets at all it seems all about money and not care of animals ,we have been at Same vets for 6 years , we took our dog in for an examination to get a repeat prescription, the vet didn’t even take our dog out of its basket , not checked weight , heart or anything yet we were charged for full examination and told our dog was well . Medication given still didn’t make any difference so we decided instead of going back to same vets we tried another for next revue , on doing this we were told our dog had stage 4 heart murmur to say we were upset is an understatement. Distraught and very upset I went to vets to see if I could get an answer as to why our pet wasn’t examined in the first place 6 months previous yet we paid for this examination . Unfortunately I didn’t get past the very rude receptionist who wouldn’t let me speak to the vet and obviously couldn’t answer my questions as she wasn’t qualified to do so anyway and yet was quite insulting to wards me and just sat there laughing saying it was nothing to do with me as the pet wasn’t registered to me it’s my partners dog , the whole point being how can a vet examine a dog without taking it out of its travel basket fully enclosed, then prescribe meds and why can a receptionist refuse to right down her name so I could complain, all this in front of a witness .

Gatehouse Vets - putting profits first.

I & my family have been clients of Gatehouse Vets (Allerton/Bingley/Haworth) for over 30 years but since the practice was taken over by IVC (as have many other practices), we have lost all confidence in its ability to put animal welfare before profits. Local staff are as nice as they’ve always been, but I’ve noticed a definite shift towards recommending numerous exploratory tests rather than ruling out the obvious cause of illness first as in ‘the old days’. It’s no longer a positive experience and we have now changed practices - back to an independent vet that knows how to deliver excellent customer service without you feeling like you’ve been totally & utterly ripped off!

Absolutely DIABOLICAL

Absolutely DIABOLICAL! I've been a customer at the vets for a few years now but as soon as they have been bought out they honestly do NOT care about your pet. They ONLY care about the money ringing through the till. I took my dog into the gatehouse as I feared she had a pup stuck during her natural delivery at home. I was given an appointment time for just over hour after my initial call and discussed a price for the service I required, I was told it's £60 for a consultation or £200 for a consultation and ultrasound) this is information relevant) when I arrived at the surgery the vet proceeded to DRAG my distressed dog from reception for an ultrasound. Before even taking my pet for the ultrasound I was told the appointment would be £260 which I explained was a different price to what I was told when I rang to which I was made to feel I was trying to pull the wool over her eyes regarding this £60 difference. I explained I'm happy to pay I was just confused over the difference in price, I was spoken down at like I was inferior because I am not a vet. After said ultrasound the information I received would confuse anyone let alone an owner in a state of worry about the condition of her beloved pet. I was told there was a puppy inside her which didn't have a heartbeat, then when asked if there was a puppy in the canal the information was changed to actually there was 2 puppies inside and my dog had NOT been examined to know if there was anything in the canal. I was then handed forms and told I would be charged £2,500 for emergency surgery, that is fine as I stated I was happy to pay but needed some more information first before signing the paperwork. I askes what my dogs temperature was and if she was showing any physical signs of distress, fever etc. I was then told my dog had not been physically checked in ANY SENSE. NO TEMPERATURE CHECK, HADN'T CHECKED HER HEART RATE ANYTHING. now I'm not a trained vet but how can you recommend surgery without checking an animal is actually fit for said surgery?? When questioned about this the vet then became RIDICULOUSLY RUDE, OBNOXIOUS AND DOWN RIGHT ARROGANT!! Telling me I hadn't even thanked her for looking at my dog and I had quéue jumped? I had an appointment and I was in mid discussion so hadn't had the chance to say thank you (Not that she would have got one anyway after the way she treat both me and my dog). The lack of compassion, empathy, love for animals was not shown AT ALL!! PATRICIA WONG AT GATEHOUSE VETS IN MY OPINION IS HONESTLY ONE OF THE MOST VILE HUMAN BEINGS IVE EVER COME INTO CONTACT WITH AND SHOULD NOT BE SEEING TO VULNERABLE AND SICK ANIMALS. I WILL BE TAKING THIS AS HIGH AS I POSSIBLY CAN. If I could have given a lower rating than 1 star I would have. Would NOT recommend especially to sick animals

NOT A GREAT IMPRESSION ABOUT GATEHOUSE VETS, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!…

Not impressed with gatehouse vets allerton or bingley. Wanting to join the vets as a new customer. First phoning Bingley it kept on ringing and ringing, and being 08.30am went onto answer phone and never got through. Then phoned Allerton vets did not answer at all and kept on ringing out for 10mins. Finally got through to a receptionist called leoni. And first i brought up the subject of the time it took to answer the phone. And her response was well "were very busy and i cant answer your calls" and i just mentioned what if we had a very poorly pet and again her response was "well were very busy. Then mentioned about payment and how do we pay. And her response "you pay on the day then claim it back on your insurance"! So be aware guys if you use these vets you pay on the day even if your bill is £1000s of ponds then you claim it back on your insurance. Leoni was very clear about this and came over quit rude. Plus not answering the phone I would not recommend this vet. Leoni has not given a good impression and will not be a customer.
