Review Time
I’ve been a customer of Paula’s Choice for DECADES. Phone customer service is now cold and rude, whereas in previous years the customer service reps were some of the best in the business. Also, now that Paula’s has been bought out by Unilever, their prices are massively inflated – – in some cases three times what they were a few years ago. This started happening well before any recent bouts of price gouging, such as claims that increases in price are tariff related etc. I suspect the Corporate taskmasters at Unilever of planning to run Paul’s Choice into the ground by driving up prices until sales are massively reduced. The discontinuation of long time unique staples such as Paula’s Choice hair conditioner is also a great blow to many loyal customers. I know this firsthand. When you start losing a customer who has been with you for decades, something is very very wrong. For shame.
UPDATE: Please note that the company's reply is four months late. Their first response was to attempt to remove my review as "defamatory". As of this week, they're still getting reviews on their own site from other people with health needs begging them to bring the shampoo and conditioner back. I've begun testing products from other companies. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My family has used their shampoo and conditioner for so many years. The company just discontinued the unscented and non-irritating conditioner, which was great for people with allergies and asthma. The shampoo is great for oily hair, but looks like they'll discontinue it, too. Both products had tons of five star reviews because they met customers' health needs. Why discontinue such popular and beneficial products? I'm guessing that now that it is not privately owned, the company is seeking to maximize its profit margin at the expense of their long-standing and loyal customers with specific needs. Gross.
I have always received stellar, helpful customer service, especially today, from Alison. I called to see what the tariff or shipping cost would be for my VIP free product. The company waived all costs. I am so grateful. I’ve been a loyal customer since the beginning of the brand. My sensitive skin is in amazing condition, thanks to the fantastic products. I purchase from Canada and am looking forward to ordering from the Canadian website, once it’s up and running. The products are unscented, easy to understand, not animal tested, and effective. I am a customer for life.
