Went to pype hayes today Friday the 5th of September 2025 after a phone call this morning explained that my partners dog was shaking his head told by receptionist to bring him up at 2.45pm arrived at pype hayes to be called through by laura pardron vega she looked down our dogs ears and said nothing is wrong seem to be in a rush I asked for a second opinion spoke to a vet at pype hayes called callum laddell weird how straight away he found his ear cannals to be swollen more on one side than the other at this point I thought what would have happened if I never asked for a second opinion would this have got worse? Callum showed me down my dogs ears and i could see they were swollen right side more than left i was then told I would be receiving a charge of just over 50 pound not bothered about the charge we love animals but why pay for their mistake, upon standing in the reception I started to wonder how many other animals/ family had this happened too its sick would rather line their pockets than care about an animal this should not happen im sure when they studied to be a vet just like doctors they have an oath. Then asked reception to speak to manager only to be told she isn't in will be in on Monday but I can speak to the head nurse complaints need to im my opinion go through to practice manager it's their job I will be going through my local news to highlight all the wrong doings by this practice when did it get to the point tell you what when we go into work today lets rush appointments not look properly and lets get what ever money we can even though I was informed by the reception if I wasnt happy with what laura pardron vega had done or lets day couldn't be bothered too them I wouldn't have to pay the consultation this is truly disgusting you should hang your heads in shame if it wasn't for callum laddel we would still be in total darkness as to what is wrong with our dog/ part of our family people if you do one thing when you read this review avoid avoid avoid pype hayes vets at all costs remember our furry friends can't speak to say what's wrong so we go to a so called trusted vets for an honest and proper diagnosis only to be lied lied lied to its truthfully sickening wonder how many more people/ clients have been treated this was england are ment to be a nation of animal lovers well I can tell you a vet that isn't hand in your notice have a hard look in the mirror and I hope your happy with your self's
Heartbroken 😭😭. Just had to say goodbye to our big dopey teddy bear of a dog at the emergency Willow vets in Solihull 😭😭💔. Pype Hayes vets are bloody disgusting!!!! Last 3 weeks we've been taking him there after him having a bland diet of boiled chicken for 5 days didn't sort his bad tummy (constant diarrhea with mucus) and not getting better.First week they gave antibiotics, (his temp was a bit high), they didn't work.2nd week took him back..they gave omeprazole antacids and a stool sample bottle incase they didn't work. They didn't!...Took stool sample in last Wednesday (£229.15!! And not heard anything back as of this posting).2 days later on the Friday morning at 10.30 am I rung them and said we need to book him for a scan as he's deteriorating badly, i was really worried. He was looking quite thin at this stage, drooling and panting, hackles all up along back indicating he was in pain and still having very bad diarrhea. I was really worried. Stool test wasn't back..I was told to take him in before 11 they said if I thought it was urgent. It wasn't possible as husband works 2 hours away and i don't drive so asked if he could be booked in for a scan (he's a very big dog and taxis don't like taking dogs full stop). They don't book for scans they said, but bring him in for a full health check on the evening and if needs be will direct to out of hours for a scan..Friday evening appointment they checked heart and temp ( temp still a bit high again they said... but she said probably from being in the car and waiting room) and just gave painkillers and MORE ANTACIDS 😡.Next day..late Saturday night he was restless, didn't want to lie down. Drooling even more but eventually he went to sleep.Sunday morning he started vomiting bright yellow bile. Had to rush him to the emergency Willow vets in Solihull. He collapsed when we got him out of the car and again in the waiting room. They weighed him (he'd lost 4 kg's in 3 weeks) and temperature of 42!! Dehydrated and critical😭😭😡😡. They rushed him straight in for IV fluids and gave him a scan straight away. He'd got fluid round his heart!!!!They drained the fluid (700 ml), managed to drop temp slightly to 40 but heart rate high 😭. Said he was critical, would do CT scan for imaging see what's going on. Had to pay 3k out of the 6k minimum quote before leaving him there. Said to keep phone near as touch and go. But i had a bit of hope when i hadn't had a call by midnight...our brave boy a strong fighter. He was only 4...strong young boy ..Then the phone rings at 01.14.He's in bad way. Vomiting blood and bloody diarrhea and blood pressure dropping😭😭.Drove up there straight away...oh God, our poor boy 😭😭. Can see blood in his drainage bag, he's not responsive, and nurse said he could likely deteriorate and go into cardiac arrest at any time 😭. So we had to do the right thing...no way were we leaving our boy on his own for that to happen. We had to make the call 💔💔💔😭😭😭.Our sweet sweet dopey boy. Pype Hayes vets should be ashamed!!!!!😡😡😡😡.After being with them for 30 years and lining their pockets with thousands of pounds we will NEVER EVER EVER take another pet of ours there!!! They just don't care anymore. It's just about the money since Medivet took over.!!Our sweet boy shouldn't have gone this way 😭😭. If only they'd listened and just done all the tests needed. They didn't even take bloods! If you've got a poorly pet that needs a scan after 11am....good luck.Disgusting practice that has well & truly gone to the pits! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!****UPDATE**** Willows tested the fluid that was around his heart and it contained BACTERIA! From an infection elsewhere...where bacteria had penetrated possibly due to a sharp object piercing the intestine or esophagus. 4 weeks of diarrhea and all Pype Hayes did was prescribe painkillers and antacids after 1 week of antibiotics didnt work!!!BLOOD MONEY!!!!!!!
Given 5 star ratings in the past but since Medivet got involved service is woefully down and prices up. Staff and vets leaving in droves and locums plugging gaps with no history and or continuity/experience of your pet. Shame that this once fantastic vets has been swallowed up by Corporate greed. The Locum vet today was lovely and this review is not a reflection of her.
I took my cat to them for fluids and they made my cat more poorly. When she came back she was urinating non stop and had inflammed pancreas. She had started to poo and pee in the corner of the room after her return. They shaved her whole leg when it was already shaved enough by her pervious vets for the fluids. I'm so sorry i took my baby to these vets.
On Tuesday 29th August at approximately 5:30pm I fed Shadow his last meal of the day, and he curled up to go to sleep for the evening. As he has a cat flap he went out at some point during the night. He usually comes home first thing in the morning for his breakfast but id noticed he hadn’t come home by 10am, its not usual sometimes hes sleeping in our shed but hes always home. I got a call on Wednesday 30th August at 12:10pm from Pype Hayes Vets to say that Shadow had been picked up by a local charity that they work with. He was brought in as a stray along with a number of other cats although they wouldn’t advise me any further than that. They informed me that he had been put under anesthesia and shaved, and that they had scanned him at this point and realised that he was microchipped and neutered. They called me to inform me of the above and asked me to come collect him. When I went to collect him, a large section of his upper leg area extending into his stomach area had been shaved, they informed me had been offered food but that he hadn’t eaten much. I am Autistic and as such have difficulty expressing how I feel so whilst I was absolutely furious I didn’t say anything at the time to the vet who handed me Shadow. They ensured me that he had not had any procedures done (however surely being put under anesthesia would count as a procedure in and of itself) and that hes absolutely fine. On Thursday I reached out via email as I had time to think about how I was feeling and I decided that I wanted to raise a complaint with the vets. I had queried why he was not:1 – Scanned by the charity that picked him up, however I did say that the vets cannot be held responsible for that 2 – Why the vets had not scanned him prior to putting him under 3 – How they could not tell Shadow apart from the other stray/feral cats, as hes extremely well groomed, a healthy weight, and a nice shiny coat. He doesn’t have a collar as the little scamp slips them off all the time. The vets response was very poor simply stating “Feral cats cannot be handled which is why they are put under first”. However any vet worth their salt would be able to tell a stray cat from a happily owned cat. Shadow has since stopped eating like he usually does because he gets stressed very easily and hes very reluctant to go outside by himself now. My issue is that they clearly do not have a process to follow. I cannot understand why their first process is to put a cat under anesthesia as opposed to scanning for a chip. Their argument of “Health and safety” is void as the cats can be scanned from 3-8 cm away. Whilst I don’t know the distance for being able to administer drugs id imagine it’s the same distance if not closer. I believe that the vets have acted negligently and as a result caused Shadow and myself considerable distress. As I am Autistic this is now an ongoing issue and im too scared to let shadow out incase he gets picked up again, and hes too scared to go out without me. Their complaints procedure, if any has not been followed to a satisfactory standard.
Cold, no empathy at all . And charge you extortionate prices to not even bring your pet home when they said he was coming home . If I ever did get a pet I would never go there again !! It made losing him even worse . I thought theirs was a caring profession???! Avoid if you can and try find somewhere that cares !!
Very poor experience. The Veterinarian (Charlotte Marshall) gave me a extremely negative impression. Everything she done while I attended my appointment seemed as if she couldn't be bothered. Huffing and puffing as I asked her questions about my pet. Her people skills are ZERO! IF YOUR NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR JOB. LEAVE AND DO SOMETHING ELSE! Very poor representation of the business indeed!
My 10 year old dog has been going there all his life. From day one they play a game of keeping you spending money on things that dont work before they find out what's wrong. Over £1000 before they do an intolerance test that shows straight away what's wrong. They fit a titanium staple in his knee. 1 week later it broke. But no faulty staple and apparently no faulty fitting. But it still broke. 3 operations and over £5000 for the dog to still limp. But not their fault! Now he has skin problems. And they prescribe an antibiotic that doesn't work and was not agreed. Breeching the contract and forcing me to take them to a small claims court for money back. They also decided to send me a letter telling me to go elsewhere after I complained about their negligence and incompetence. If it was down to me I would never have used them as they are like bad mechanics. Try this, try that and we will charge you for not knowing what is wrong. If i do a job and it doesn't work how can I charge you for it not working? But they do! And then have the nerve to moan when you complain. It's a shame it's not their money they waste. They would soon find out what the problem was.
