The Zip product is fine but the particular app that is being supported is a horrible and fake/illega

The Zip product is fine but the particular app that is being supported is a horrible and fake/illegal product that should NEVER be supported by Zip. I am limited to SSDI and have very little money to survive and tots product is financially a loss and financial waster of our money and time.

Disappointed with Recent Experience

I have been a loyal customer of the service for quite some time and recently made a purchase of around $500 using their eight-installment option. Initially, everything seemed fine, but when I tried to make my first payment, they unexpectedly withdrew $453 from my account without my consent. This amount was intended to cover the remaining seven payments, which were scheduled to be made every two weeks. I quickly reached out to the service through their mobile app. They tried to place the blame on me for the unauthorized charge, which is confusing since I had just applied for the eight-installment plan of $64 two days earlier and had already made the following payments. When I mentioned to the representative that I planned to contact my bank to report this as fraud, he threatened and attempted to intimidate me, claiming that I would lose access to my account if I proceeded. Additionally, I received a response from the service regarding my review, including an email address to address my issue. However, when I tried to use that email, I encountered an error indicating that it was not a recognized domain.

Disappointing experience with the service

I placed an order and was approved... received my item, made my initial payment, and everything seemed fine. However, when I logged into my account, I discovered my balance was $187.00 higher than my receipt total. I called customer service to address the discrepancy, but the representative claimed I had exceeded my purchasing power, which was incorrect. After explaining the issue, I was asked to send a screenshot of the receipt. I received instructions via email but before I could respond, the rep hung up. I sent the email anyway. Later, I got a message saying adjustments were made to my account, which indeed happened. The service accepted the total from my receipt and shortened the repayment period by refunding three payments. However, they also adjusted the credit for my initial payment, adding part of it to my balance. When I called back, another representative explained that a transaction fee was the reason for this adjustment. Interestingly, she mentioned that transaction fees are included in each payment, so I questioned why it was deducted from my initial payment and added to my balance. After some back and forth, she escalated the issue to her supervisor. While the transaction fee was waived, it wasn't credited back to my initial payment amount. Thus, even after making a full payment from my bank account, I was credited only for the initial payment minus the fee, while the full payment was charged. I don't plan to use or recommend this service in the future.

Great experience with a portable dryer purchase

I purchased a portable dryer and opted for a payment plan with a service. The sign-up process was straightforward, and I was approved for approximately $135. The initial payment was made at checkout, followed by three additional payments of $34 every two weeks. This option was incredibly helpful when I needed it! I've already completed all my payments.

Great app with a secure payment method, but refund process needs improvement

The app is quite good, and I appreciate the 8 payments method for its safety and reliability. However, I was disappointed with the lengthy refund process for a failed transaction from November 2. It took over a month for the refund to be processed and for my dashboard to reflect the cleared expenses. This delay impacted my Christmas shopping significantly. I believe there is room for improvement in this area.

The Zip app has been an absolute lifesaver for me. It’s easy to use, super convenient, and makes managing payments feel stress-free instead of overwhelming. I love how clearly everything is laid out — no confusion, no hidden steps, just a smooth experience every time.

Being able to spread payments out has helped me stay on top of things without feeling stretched too thin, and the reminders and updates are always right on time. It truly feels like Zip was designed to support real people and make life a little easier.

My only wish is that my spending limit was just a bit higher, because the app has been so reliable and helpful. Even with that, I’m genuinely grateful for how much Zip has supported me, and I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a flexible, trustworthy payment option!

Payment was taken, but order was never fulfilled.

A payment was deducted from my checking account, but the order was never processed. I reached out to the support team through chat, and the experience was frustrating; I had to wait 5-15 minutes for each response. The representative requested an order number, which I couldn't provide since the payment was never completed.
