ActBlue is a scam and a pyramid scheme. Don't ever make a donation on ActBlue website or your name and phone number will be sold to thousands of fraudulent fundraising schemes. I made a small donation to what I thought was support for a renewable energy bill during Biden. I have been bombarded with thousands of text messages -- about 20 each week. Not only that, but after making the donation, I also started getting those scam calls from India. So these organizations are also affiliated with the scam centers in India. When you response with stop or end, they turn you over to the next scammer. ActBlue is only legitimate in the fact is a money laundering scheme for fake organizations who sell your information and then get a percentage of the people who scam you.
Awful. They will sell your phone number to everyone.I made the mistake of supporting what I thought was my Democratic Senator, Mark Kelly. What happened next is an unending stream of spam texts from Dem candidates all over the country. Up to 5 texts per day since I made my contribution.
Act Blue has given my contact information to any Democratic candidate and cause. I deleted my Act Blue account. I stopped giving to Democratic candidates online, because I know Act Blue will give them access to my phone and email for fund raising appeals. They are a degenerate bunch.
I have given to Act Blue a few times and afterward, each time, I receive multiple SMS requests asking for more funding. Act Blue gives your personal information away to many others and they all abuse that information. I’ve had to change my phone number to stop it. I’ll vote democrats but I’ll never donate to a democratic fund raising effort again.
Act blue is just a scam to sell your info and flood you with requests for money from all over the country. I’ll never donate another dime to anyone on act blue. I’m an independent, but I think GOP efforts to shut down actblue are justified. End2End also.
I’m getting texts from multiple democratic campaigns that will not stop - several times every day some weeks. Replying “stop” does not seem to help. Contacting Act Blue and even sending them some of the unwanted texts was unhelpful - they claim to have no responsibility for this and are not offering to assist in any way. This started over a year ago after I gave to one or two campaigns through Act Blue.
I will never donate through Act Blue again. I did not imagine the flood of unwanted texts I would receive from every Democratic candidate in the country. There seems to be no way to stop this torrent, other than by changing a phone number I’ve had for 25 years. The texts are utterly annoying.
I want to give to dems. BUT, this site sells my info….get “requests” from many actual suspicious places. This is a SPAM GENERATING site!!! I will find a dependable way to contribute. Act Blue needs to respect the donors privacy and data as now it just PUNISHES you for giving!
They make it easy to donate quickly to a current cause. Also can do recurring donations, straightforward phone interface. Their customer service helped me reverse a charge when I added an extra zero by mistake. Do wish you could request that your email isn't used by other campaigns.
