LOVE my candidates, and want to support them. ActBlue sells my info, a dozen urgent pleas from every single race every day, via text and email. EVERY unsubscribe, stop, block request is ignored. It's a dark practice, stop with this.I will stop donating using ActBlue, unless it's anonymous, or I'm using a fake phone # (or one of my enemy). It's super disappointing that such great candidates are using ActBlue for donations. No more.
I have had no issues with this group. I will continue to support Democratic principles and candidates through ActBlue and individual donations to local Democratic candidates. We must put Democrats back in office, I have not had one bad experience over the past nine months with with my reoccurring donations nor any type of refund.
I was very happy to support my favorite candidate, and I did so on multiple occasions. Much to my dissapointment, however, ActBlue shared my contact information, and I began to receive emails from many candidates that weren't even in my state. If the candidates had only been in my state that would have been understandable, but I receive emails from all of the country.Apparently there is no way to get out of this except to unsubscribe one by one. Considering how many candidates there are at any given time, I suppose it could be a number of years before I finally stop receiving the emails.
I have been making donations for years and get a receipt via email instantaneously. ActBlue has a phone number for Customer Service. The area code looks like Boston, Massachusetts: (617)517-7600. Leave your name, call back number and detailed message.
The web site takes me directly to a Harris donation form and gives me no option to go to a search page. I tried interacting with their poorly implemented BOT, which kept recycling me to a page to donate to them just to try to help them fix a serious web site issue. It's almost enough to make me donate to a Republican, but I guess I will try to find some other way to donate to the Democrat of my choice.
I made a one time donation to a candidate for $18. They charged me $18 and created an additional donation for 1,800 and made it reoccurring weekly! Getting help from Actblue was practically impossible and never being able to reach a breathing human being was arduous and painful. I did finally get them to cancel the charges. How can this be legal?
Donating to a cause is easy and I know the money is going towards the right purpose. Be aware, however, that your email and personal information WILL BE SHARED with other similar groups or organizations. You will then receive solicitations via email and text, which you can stop, block or unsubscribe from. You should be given the opportunity to opt-out OR opt-in to sharing your information… that is the main problem with ActBlue
