The return policy for Europe (outside of germany) is ridiculous. The pair I ordered was too small and I had to return it on my own cost, which is fine. It cost me 12€ to send them back, and they deducted extra 8€ from my refund. And I already ordered a different size from them, but I was at a loss of 20€.
An unacceptably bad shopping experience, will never buy from Afew again! I ordered a pair of shoes that turned out to be faulty. The other shoe was significantly different color to the other one. I contacted the customer service, since normally at Afew you have to pay for outside Germany return yourself. The customer service gave me two options. This is copied straight from their email:1. voucher - You can return your complaint to us free of charge and we will send you a voucher in the amount of the purchase price. With this voucher, you can then simply choose an alternative item from our online store. You can create a returns label here: (a link to DHL)2. discount - Alternatively, you can keep the item and receive a subsequent discount of 10% as a refund from us.While I would rather receive my money back than have a voucher, I still decided to go with option one. Everything seemed to go okay, until I tried to create the shipping label via the link they gave. There were no options for returning from outside of Germany. I contacted the customer service again, asking for their assistance and this time they answered "Returns are only free of charge within Germany this is a general text but on our website it is also communicated that returns outside of Germany are subject to a charge." This also copied from their email. So not only in cases of faulty items the customer pays for the whole thing, but they do not even bother to answer case by case, but use some copy-paste answer and then try to shame the customer for not understanding, that their previous answer is "a general text". While I understand sometimes there can be issues with product quality, this type of cases are normally handled quite differently with reputable e-commerces. I paid for the shoes, expecting to get a pair I can wear, paid 7,99 for shipping and now I should pay 20,99 for the return postage. That's almost the same amount I paid for the shoes. I will be contacting my bank to help resolve this case. Unbelievably bad shopping experience and worst customer service I have ever received. Do not order from Afew Store, at least if you are outside of Germany!
