At the start of the course we were told the course would be a 8 week course which we would have 2 guaranteed interviews related to telecoms at the end. However, on week 5 we were told that the course has been extended by an additional 2 weeks making it a 10 week course and if we didn’t attend the final 2 weeks we wouldn’t receive the qualification. For the final 2 weeks majority of the class had already completed all the work required and had nothing to do. Learners were just sat in the class with nothing to do. We also only had 1 interview which was not telecom related and was for a job working in the sewers. While being on the course there was an individual who lived in the neighbouring building who would often come outside the building threatening learners. On one occasion he even attacked one of the elderly learners with a tree branch on his neck causing him to bleed. For anyone considering joining this course I would strongly advise against. I feel like the past 10 weeks have been a complete waste of time.
Excellent Set Up with these Guys! 100% Back Up for the Learners, nothing is too difficult for the Tutors and Staff to help you with. They provide complete Support with Job Searches up to 6 MONTHS after you have completed your Course.I would thoroughly recommend this Company to Anyone wishing to get into IT and Fibre Optics.Boss Hogg
Just finished my BTEC level 2 in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms and absolutely loved the experience. The course was informative, well-structured and helped provide me with a great start on the next steps of my new career in telecoms. The tutor, Chris was fantastic and helped made the learning fun and a great experience too. 10/10 would definitely recommend!
Great Experience with Aim2Learn with my BTEC in telecoms.Although classroom based plenty hands on experience. Nothing was a problem for the tutors they were all in point with the information and helped anyway they could.Especially thanks to Tutor Matt McKeown.Only small issue I had was i applied and signed up for level 3 but was told once started only level 2 was available on the weekend course. I continued anyways and enjoyed every weekend.
The support throughout the training was really awesome and practical here in Newcastle centre. I really appreciate you guys (Matty, Andy and Simon) guidance and feedback, it’s helped me understand the each of the units, and helps me stay motivated throughout the course.
For me, this was a great experience with a good team and a tutor who knows how to teach and explain the subject matter. I had the opportunity to learn something new, so I want to thank Aim2Learn for the opportunity, and I definitely recommend this course.
Aim2Learn – Level 3 Telecoms BTECOne of the best parts of the course was the tutor, Danny Robinson. He was always supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in helping students succeed. His teaching style made the content easier to understand, and he consistently went the extra mile for the class.I chose the Level 3 Telecoms BTEC at Aim2Learn after seeing strong claims about career opportunities, including potential salaries of £30,000 to £40,000 and connections with a wide network of companies in the telecom industry. While the course itself was organised and I worked hard — attending every session, completing all assignments, and staying committed — the outcome hasn’t matched what was advertised.Since finishing, I’ve been actively applying for jobs, sending out my CV to at least 10 different companies every day, but I haven’t had any responses. So far, the only job offer I’ve received has been through Kelly. It’s a demanding role, offering £457 for over 55 hours a week (that’s more than 11 hours a day, five days a week), and lasts six months. It doesn’t really feel like a specialist opportunity that came from completing the course — more like a general role that many people could get regardless of their training.Overall, while I appreciated the quality of the teaching — especially from Danny Robinson — I think the career support and industry connections were not as strong as they were made out to be. If you’re considering this course, it may still be valuable for learning the basics, but it’s important to keep your expectations realistic when it comes to job prospects afterward
