I have absolutely love being wih Aim2Learn

I have absolutely love being with Aim2Learn doing the Telecommunications Btec Level 3 Course.i was terriified @33 y/0 to go back in to any education or training, but was made to feel comfortable throughout. i had serious health concerns during the course and our tutor Danny helped me stay on the course and worked around me as much as possible. Now on to the tutor, what a LEGEND, Danny Robinson is a great bloke with great knowledge with brilliant ways of passing that knowledge on. keep it sweet and simple, if i had a tutor like Danny in school.... maybe i would have stayed. he is a credit to Aim2Learn. brilliant course! absolutely loved it! 4 days away from passing the course and i have met some really nice people and Danny buys the donuts on a friday ;)

The course has potential

The course has potential, but unexpectedly, it focused heavily on general skills like CV and cover letter writing rather than practical telecommunications. The practical content could likely be completed in just 2-3 weeks. If you are interested in management, design, or health and safety, it may suit you; however, there were no live sessions at telecoms cabinets or real-world scenarios, which may be more a limitation of the BTEC structure than Aim2Learn itself. Overall, the tutors are friendly, supportive and genuinely want students to succeed, and the course venue is pleasant. The experience could be improved with higher-quality equipment and materials, though it’s understandable that budget constraints play a role.

What went well

What went wellThe instructor, Dave, was excellent and demonstrated a broad range of experience in the telecommunications industry. This was shown particularly well through his explanation of technical standards such as B50173/4 and the five British Values. Overall, the Aim2Learn curriculum provided a good understanding of health and safety within the telecommunications industry.Even better ifGood instruction and feedback could be improved to an outstanding professional standard if not for some grammatical errors, such as using “whose” instead of “who’s”. The Aim2Learn curriculum was very repetitive, often focusing heavily on health and safety, where more attention could instead be given to understanding fibre optic networks and undertaking practical fibre network activities. In addition, some topics within the curriculum could be more thoroughly developed, as ideas and points that were introduced were not always fully concluded.

Genuinely enjoyed the course

Genuinely enjoyed the course, it's a lot of information in a small space of time, but if you get your head down you'll absolutely smash it. Gaz was a great tutor - if you get him, don't worry, he'll soften once he knows you're serious about the course, he acts all serious, but he wants you to succeed so he'll give you some hard studying but it's motivation for your own benefit.
