The installation engineer was not good as he did not explain how to use the system and also did not install box on outside wall which is deterent, but the system is absolutely great and the app is so easy to use it is fantastic 👍
The devices are easy to install, and the app is straightforward to use to manage the system. There is detailed support documentation too. Having come from a paid alarm service, the Ajax alarm is much more versatile (set zone) and the all settings can be adjusted. We have a cat, and the MotionCams have never triggered the alarm due to the cat's movement inside the zones covered by the sensors. Plus, we now have the outbuilding protected using the DoorProtect. Very happy with this system.To add, more recently we have had some internet outages, and so we have added a 2G SIM card to the Hub2. Now, the main connection is through the ethernet cable, but the 2G is there as a fallback when the internet drops. As a guide to the bandwidth, in 3 weeks of alarm usage (but no triggers), only 1.7MB of data has been used.
Everything has worked well. My only complaint is about the phone app usability - I understand it mimics a physical key, but the chosen symbols of full circle and not so full circle are hard (or sometimes impossible) to tell apart in sunlight or for someone with not so good eyesight. I would make them more distinctive in the app. Words on/off, colours or anything that would help!
The alarm system was very easy to fit and get working with the app. It only took me 2 hours to install the system with 3 PIRs and 6 window shock sensors and 2 door sensors. I bought it for my 86 year old mother in law so she would feel secure and I could monitor the alarm with the app as I don’t live nearby. She finds it very easy to use with no complicated keypad just a key fob. I installed the camera PIRs so if the alarm goes off using the app I can see if it was a false alarm or a real alarm, this has worked great so far.I didn’t give 5 stars because it’s not 100% perfect. I had to use a marker pen to colour code the key fob buttons as they are not easy to discriminate, they all looked the same, but now with three different colours they are ok. I will be buying another for my holiday home when it is connected to the internet! Definitely recommend this system for DIY installer it is very easy to do.
My experience with the Ajax system is not very long, but I immediately noticed the high degree of security of the hub and its elements, simplified installation and maintenanceр,the exceptional design, intuitiveness of software and rich, but not cluttered information, that is visually perceived very easily. The process of inviting an installer and security company is clear and easy. Fast delivery of messages from the hub to the client application and the monitoring station, which is very important! An exceptional system!
