Works ok until you need to contact them. Customer service is from 1996. If you try to use the 'Chat' feature it sends you in an endless loop of logging in - they must know this and have not fixed it. If you phone you speak to an outdated 'bot' who cant understand anything and is just there to make people give up. Then it ignores what you ask for. Then you are in a queue which literally never ends. Basically you cannot contact them in any way - even if there is a security issue on your card. Considering the money they are making this is unacceptable.
The platform isn't mobile-friendly, and the UI is so poor, takes forever to load. To the point where the system won't be updated if they change the minimum payment due until I reached out with an enquiry on interest and late payment fee structure. Wouldn't recommend this card. Closed my account within three months.
Fifteen months ago, I had a borrowing limit of $16,500 on two cards. They claim I was notified about changes, but I seriously doubt it. In July 2024, my limit was slashed to $10,500, despite my consistent on-time payments. I only discovered this issue when my merchants weren’t getting paid, resulting in numerous late fees for me. Then, in November 2025, one card's limit was further reduced to $5,700. Yet, they still have the audacity to offer me more cards and spending incentives. This experience is no different from what many companies provide these days, where it takes an eternity to reach a representative. I'm done with this. I applied for and received a card that allows balance transfers with no interest for 15 months. Goodbye.
Do not use an American Express if you are a small business. You have no protection against anything as they are a charge card. You could literally lose ten of thousands of pounds from paying suppliers using American Express, and they will not assist you in recovering anything back. Stick with Visa or Mastercard who have a proper Section 75 protection clause.
Use Amex at your own risk, this credit card is not good for your credit score even if you pay back on time they will entice you with money at first but later you will regret taking the card. We later pay them off and close down the account. And lastly you will be the one working for them all your money goes to them every month even if you don't use the card
Absolutely terrible customer service. Misleading information from multiple members of the team with all issues being pinned on “back end team” that aren’t accessible in any way. Couldn’t access my account as a pop up kept asking for documents to verify account. Wasn’t able to submit online even after trying 3 times due to error messages. I submitted the documents on call via a link sent by a customer care team. I was told it would be processed in 5 days. Still wasn’t able to access my account. Couldn’t even access chat function as you need to sign into your account for that. Spent two weeks trying to get some update, passed around multiple people. There is no email address you can contact and they refuse to provide any other means of contacting. I ended up cancelling my card after being with them for 4 years.
got this credit card for high customer service and i missed my payment date by 1 day on a brand new card other credit cards have always refunded me and i spoke to someone called Anj on chat and denied me that even though id spoken to one of her colleagues saying they would happily refund it to me so shes calling the other one a liar, which other credit cards always have had no problems with. Not only can u not use this in lots of retailers but utterly misleading customer service, the first letter i had was misleading me thinking i already had a charge on there.
Incredibly misleading statements. You’re told how much the minimum payment for a month is, but they don’t provide the minimum amount you’ve got to pay without incurring interest. To find out how much you actually have to pay, you have to do some serious digging. Very different to other credit cards I’ve had in the past. Do not use them. Don’t give them the satisfaction. Their points are rubbish as well. When it’s all worked out, cash back is equivalent to something like 0.1%. It’s totally not worth it. Save your time and effort.
