THIS COMPANY IS UNTRUTHFUL

1. All the positive reviews are LIESSSS!2. Notice a pattern as seen in the negative reviews - Give you an estimate, then call you 2 days before agreed date to significantly increase the agreed amount (by this time you are in a tight spot) - If you try to cancel, you lose a huge deposit.3. I was lucky to have paid with my credit card so i kinda dodged a missile. 4. IF YOU ARE READING THIS.... PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. USING UHAUL OR PENSEKE IS WAY CHEAPER. GOOD LUCK!

Fraudulent Scam

We were completely scammed by this company. You can believe every word in the negative reviews. Our initial written ‘binding estimate’ went from $4993 to $20,000 after a ‘Quality Assurance’ call 2 days before the move after everything was packed (nothing had changed!). Jobs and lease had been terminated so we felt like hostages to the new deal. On the day of the move 2 days later, a crew of 4 very small young guys showed up wearing FLIP FLOPS to move a 3rd floor condo. They were in 2 Ryder/Budget Rental trucks …not their own ‘A&M fleet’ as we had been promised. While they were starting to load, the one guy who spoke a little English said he had to add more cubic feet, packing material and fuel costs so the new price would be closer to $30,000! We were given nothing in writing and wouldn’t agree to the new amount so they unloaded the truck, haphazardly dumped the stuff back into the condo, damaged boxes in the process …and the company refused to return our almost $10,000 deposit! Henry who provided the ‘binding estimate’ will not return our calls, texts, emails and did not respond to our request to engage in his ‘Arbitration process’ as required by law. Everything legally required by movers per the FMCSA website was NOT done! Throughout the process, they said they would accept credit cards but then wouldn’t …only cash, bank check or debit from an account…so without CC protection, we are forced to take them to court to recover our deposit. Total disaster!

Bait n Switch

Bait n Switch….this is their game. Between being told that they are showing at 11am and still trying to change whilst resolving issues, being told that I am to blame for their mis-quote, and the flagrant disregard for any proper business etiquette, it is amazing that this company is still in business….Beware of this scam folk. They will quote cheaper and hold you over a barrel when the truck shows up because you’ve paid a deposit in good faith.

Read the negative reviews and believe…

Read the negative reviews and believe them. I personally believe the positive reviews were submitted by employees of the company. Everything negative that people posted about happened to us. This is a pattern. Lowballing the quote then hiking the price, missing and broken furniture, refusing to put boxes and furniture in the appropriate rooms or reassembling anything. This has been a nightmare, and now I’m taking legal action.

Fearful delivery

Crew that picked up was marvelous. Crew that delivered were stoned, did not assemble furniture as promised, and damaged my property and some furniture. Signed as received in good condition simply to get them out of my house, which had to be aired out for hours in northern New York in the dead of winter to get the stench of weed out. Because we signed the delivery paper, the company nor the insurance firm would pay any restitution for the damage done. The delivery crew could not figure out how to get the sofa in the door they were so out of it. They had no tools to reassemble anything and did not even have a cutter to remove the wrapping on the furniture. The experience was bad enough but the $300 plus we spent to repair the damages was insult on top of injury. To top it all, we were never given any of the documents (Bill of lading or inventory sheet) to support our claims. Was that an oversight or intent?

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY

Update*** their insurance company has cut ties with them so you will not be reimbursed for damaged items***DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! They are frauds. Moving is very stressful and this company will make your move a living hell. Please trust me on this as I would hate to see others fall victim to their predatory sales tactics I was given a quote by a man named Fox. Do not trust that man he will say anything to land a sale. I was very honest with the items I would be moving from MA to NC. I even sent pictures and videos. Fox took an inventory and it lined up with the items moved. Upon moving day, the movers looked at my items for about 30 seconds and let me know that it was too many items and the price would increase. After going back to their truck for 20/30 mins they gave me a new quote DOUBLE the amount agreed to. Additionally, I was not able to pay on a credit card like I was promised by Fox I would be able to. I had to use venmo (sketchy)and when my bank would not let me send more than 1k I was treated very poorly and felt threatened— there was no compassion for the fact that I was expecting to pay less than half the amount on a credit card that day. I was naturally very stressed to learn of the increased price and alternative payment methods. When booking I was sent a secure PayPal link so I know I was protected should anything happen. I was in touch with another woman at the company who showed no compassion for the situation and was downright mean. You also can’t back out or else you lose your deposit even though you had a SIGNED CONTRACT agreeing to an amount. These people are thieves. I was backed into a corner with no other choices. I was told my Fox the advantage of their company was they were proprietary had their own movers/trucks etc. so it was a red flag when they arrived in a rented Penske truck. I was then told later that night that they would be arriving early so I drove overnight to my new place to meet them. The night before I reached out they told me “the truck broke down and there would be a delay” That’s a lie because the truck was RENTED and a large national truck rental company would 100% replace the truck if it broke down. So I’ve been left without furniture for a week. Communication was extremely poor during this time. I was extremely stressed out the entire week due to this and at points figured I would never see my things again. These movers made what should have been an exciting time in my life a nightmare I was left sick to my stomach throughout the week and even dreaded their arrival because of how I was treated. I hate that this is what they did to me and do to other people. Upon delivery I had thousands of dollars of damage (broken tv, solid oak desk, console table, custom made frames) I have filed a claim with their insurance it is currently pending PLEASE SELECT ANOTHER COMPANY THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS. I will be filing with the BBB to launch a formal complaint against them because nobody should be treated like this.Do better than me. Chose a local reputable company. I am pretty confident these other reviews were paid for by the company. DO NOT PUT YOURSELF IN THIS SITUATION PLEASE!!!

Awful Experience

I recently moved from NC to CA and went with this moving company. They are just awful.1. They didn't adhere to the price they quoted and charged the extra amount even though there ws only one flight of steps at the destination since the guys who handed over the goods at the destibation are different from this moving company and they had some kind of contract with them2. They damaged lot of stuff and the boxes which are especially labeled as "Gentle, Handle with care" are also not taken care of3. They misplaced the screws of the bedframe and they didnt even to bother to assemble the bed and they don't answer to calls and texts4. Co-ordination and communication was worst. If you think that the price they quote is cheap, you are into trouble.

Syrus was literally the only person…

Syrus was literally the only person that contacted me out of over 65 different company requests with actual information and a financial breakdown. I found them to be incredibly helpful and supportive in the extremely difficult move following Gam Gams death.A very unpleasant event in any family.

UNPROFESSIONAL, UNRESPONSIVE, FRAUD

This is the most unprofessional company running a scam and stealing consumers items. As the other review says, once they pick up your goods you will not hear from them. Everyone you had previous contact with will no longer answer calls, emails, texts or anything. Save yourself the headache, stress, and money and pick ANY other company.

Not recommended. Avoid.

I do not recommend this company. At all.Go for PODS or U-Pack and hire local movers on both sides of the move. That is my recommendation. Save yourself the hassle. Here is how this company gets you:- A&M Moving employs what they describe as a "booking agent" called Moving and Relo LLC (A&M Moving claims that Moving and Relo LLC is not a broker, because I did not want a broker, but it acts just like a broker, as you will see).- It is likely that you will get contacted first by Moving and Relo LLC so they can quote you. I talked to a person named Henry. Moving and Relo LLC will push you hard for a "binding deposit".- Moving and Relo LLC operates out of New Jersey and they are not local. Pay attention to your Caller ID when they call you back.- Moving and Relo LLC will take an inventory list, but they will not get any dimensions from you on your items. Moving and Relo LLC pretends like the inventory list is what is important the whole time, but what is ACTUALLY important is the VOLUME that they reserve for you in the truck (not the weight either). At no time did A&M Moving attempt to actually figure out the actual volume of my items before their truck arrived.- Because Moving and Relo LLC does not get any dimensions from you, this allows them to intentionally underbid on the truck volume. Because they intentionally underbid the volume, they SEEM very competitive with PODS and U-Pack. But it is a ploy.- When the actual truck arrives during moving day, you will not have enough volume in the truck reserved and they will double the price per volume on you right at your door. Now you are stuck in their trap. These ransom up-charges will effectively double the cost of your move. I did not elect to pay much in these ransom up-charges, but I also forced to leave behind several thousand dollars worth of inventory.- Moving and Relo LLC then basically ghosts you. You will not be able to get anyone on the phone after you give them a binding deposit. The owner of A&M Moving (someone named "Mo") will act like Moving and Relo LLC is not their problem either, even though A&M Moving is their customer because A&M Moving hired them.- During transit and drop-off the whole thing was a mess. There is little visibility on anything that is happening with your items and they employ various subcontractors that all take different forms of payment and have different communication strategies. You will spend a ton of time managing the logistics yourself.- Several boxes of our items were repacked sometime after they were taken which complicates your ability to audit your items at drop-off.- They essentially force you to sign various contracts along the way or else they will not transport your items or get them off the truck at the drop-off address. What a mess.I used A&M Moving to move from Texas to Michigan in October 2022.Go with PODS or U-Pack. It is a little more work on each end, but your life will be MUCH easier. If you are moving to an apartment, PODS and U-Pack often offer free storage for a month so you can have local movers pick up your items at the drop-off address on your schedule.
